Astel

(a.k.a. The Dreamer)

In the beginning, the humans and the Other People were given the day for work and play and the night for rest. Night has fallen, and now Astel goes about their duty. Their magical canvas trails behind them as they silently sail through the air, going from heart to heart and mind to mind. With a flash of their paintbrush they breathe life onto the canvas -- an image here, an idea there. Then they transfer the ideas, the dreams, the imagination to the mortal minds.

Divine Domains

Astel is the god of dreams and imagination. Consequently, art in all its forms -- music, literature, visual arts, theatre, etc. -- are heavily associated with them as well. The god acts as a muse of sorts, and worshippers will ask for their intervention when they want inspiration.
Stars and constellations have come to be viewed as domains for Astel. This may be because stars come out at night, when one sleeps and dreams. Additionally, the drawing of constellations is an art unto itself, and as previously stated, art is a domain of the dreaming god.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Artistic tools are an arc symbol for Astel, as are books and constellations. A popular way to depict them is with them holding a paintbrush and a canvas or sheepskin. They may also be depicted as surrounded by colourful mists or a rainbow.

Not long after their birth, Herobrine took them to the Aether and presented them to the other gods. Then they both retreated to an unknown place in the Overworld wilderness so Herobrine could help Astel develop their godly powers.
