Acheron
The Orphanage
Acheron doesn’t know who his parents are. He had been living in the orphanage in Gulok for as long as he can remember, and almost everyone there is afraid of him, they call him a monster and why shouldn’t they? Acheron has these fangs, and small creatures like snakes and spiders come after him to attack him, he could generally fend them off, but that’s when the other orphans started staying away from him, except for 4 others, his friends. For a while, Acheron was having nightmares every night. He couldn’t tell what they were at first. The dreams always started out the same. A man and woman falling in love, then they have a kid. The man tells the woman something then leaves, the woman abandons her child, but then there’s more kids around them. A man comes in and attacks the others while the first kid uses a sword to attack the man. The dream remained the same for a long time, but one night, it started to become a little clearer, details becoming sharper. The man seems to be a vampire, but the faces of the woman and child remained blurry, but the other kids..they looked like Acheron’s friends, that’s when Acheron started waking up covered in sweat, it’s times like these Acheron wish he had a mom to tell him everything was ok. And then...the dream sharpened more. The vampire man fell in love with a woman that looked like Acheron, and their child looked like her too, but much younger and a boy. The vampire man showed the woman his fangs and she ran with her son, but she treated him differently, looking disgusted when she looked at him and left him alone in a city. A time skip happened and… Acheron saw himself and his friends, but then the vampire came back and started killing his friends. Acheron watched his dream self try to protect his friends, getting hurt and bleeding from the vampire. His friends dead, he saw a sword on the ground and grabbed it, feeling his blood stream into the sword and the sword pulse with power. Using this new power, he slayed the vampire, but before he died, the vampire looked at him and just said “this is not the end my son”. Acheron woke up, and that was the last time he had that dream. From then on, Acheron did odd jobs around town with his friends to collect money to help the orphanage. He no longer had the dream telling him he was half-vampire, but he dreamed of his blood and how to use it to protect his loved ones.
Spring
Acheron set out with his friends on a dangerous mission, for 100,000 gold they would infiltrate the church of Father Donovan and recover some artifact that he was keeping hidden. Acheron kept an eye on whom he considered his younger siblings as they made their way through the town, but the young ones would wander or were clumsy making the stealth mission a failure, but they were able to gain the trust of a Drow woman who worked for Father Donovan and were given coins that would give them access to the church. Along the way they were ambushed by some of Bogaps goblins, causing Lyra to go down. In a fit of fury and anger from seeing his beloved little sister go down, he burnt two goblins to a crisp and received help from a tiefling woman named Red who healed Lyra. They gained access to the church and while Father Donovan was having a brief mass outside, Acheron and his siblings found a stairway under the altar inside, leading to a cellar. Unfortunately they triggered a trap which let out a deadly gas, it was only by saying Father Donovan's phrase "May Heliod's light cast away your shadows" was Acheron able to open a secret passage and get everyone to safety. Once Riton pushed a guard off the cliff and they snuck past a trio of guard wolves, did they find a warforged known as "Spring". Thomas activated it and Acheron claimed to be Spring's master, ordering him to return them home safely. Shortly after Acheron and his siblings were contacted by those at Koth Keep and offered a home and training there.
