Aika Owlwood

Aika lives a very cursed life. Living and growing up in the country of Heung was never very easy, it seemed there was a fight outside her home everyday. To cope, she absorbed herself into her studies. She would read any book she could get her hands on, but she soon grew bored of those. A traveling merchant then came into town selling new kinds of books Aika hadn't seen, books about magic, science, and how the world works. She became a self taught wizard, but what kind she would become was more complicated. She would go out behind her home where it was empty to practice spells of all kinds, with varying effects. Where Aika excelled, was manipulating with time, she found she could change outcomes, and freeze other spells for later use. With that knowledge, she used her magic to try and keep her village as safe as possible, trying to change outcomes of attacks as best she could in order to protect people she cared about. It worked for a long time. When Aika was 24, her parents were killed in a raid. Of course Aika tried to change the outcome, again, and again, and again, and again, but nothing changed, they still died. Aika mourned her parents for years, delving into her studies, so as not to let someone she cared about die again. Aika met a party of adventurers that she joined with and traveled together for many years, but while trying to settle a dispute in Gulok, their party was killed, leaving Aika alone again, as she delved back into her studies, more determined than ever. After studying more, she joined up with a new group, who all died in the South of Heung. Then another group that died at the border of Drakhian. Each time, Aika stayed positive. Of course she took the time to mourn her friends, but she took every moment as inspiration to continue improving herself, knowing it is all part of Kruphix's plan. She followed any lead that would give her more information on her specialty of magic; however, there are consequences when it comes to time, though Aika now currently looks like she should be 43, she was actually 106. Aika continues to search for answers to enhance her magic.
Aika's adventures led her back to Heung, where there was an effort to save refugees from a force making its way through Heung. It was there she met a new party, one she was determined to protect. She was confident she could, until she met Themis, the source of so much agony in the world, who brought back her long dead ancestor Sylver back into the world. Aika tried all she could to buy time so she and her new friends could escape, but all her spells failed, she was scared she was about to watch another party fall when they were all saved by Techondrius. He brought them to an island called Kalt, where was going to give them time to prepare against Themis' attack, but first, they needed to find two more adventurers on Kalt to aid in the effort: Gretal and Dourrun.
