Danni Owlwood
Danni has been known to her parents as a dynastic child. Sure, shes a descendent of Sylver Owlwood on her father’s side, but that is just a part of her. Her mother’s side however, is her true calling. The Brightgroves are a long family of planar guardians. It is a Brightgrove’s duty to protect Tio Luma from other planar beings and creatures who seek to destroy or cause distress in Tio Luma, this what Danni’s future is destined to be, but there will be some time before she’s ready for that.
In the northern end of the Hueng Empire is Danni’s family dojo. The Brightgrove dojo can be found flying the family sigil of an apple over a leaf in front of a golden background on top of the dojo and the sigil can be found in secret spots around the dojo for anyone interested. It is here that many across Heung may come and learn the ways of a Ranger, no matter what the skill level. However, it is by no means easy, the training is harsh and merely 10% of the students make it through the full fledged training and are able to make it to the next stage. Danni had always been a star pupil in the dojo. She never understood why she needed to train with the others, she considered herself a prodigy, levels higher than the rest of the students she worked with. There were several disciplines of a ranger that could be taught, but Danni would follow in the footsteps of her mother and become a Horizon Walker. This is where Danni’s training truly started.
Having the last name Owlwood, instead of Brightgrove meant the other students around her did not know she was the daughter of Cecilia Brightgrove, the current head of the dojo. And being a small mousefolk made her a target of ridicule, no matter how hard Danni worked or how much praise she earned from her teacher, the students still thought less of her and would insist she was simply lucky or the teacher did not know what they were talking about. Danni was angry and would often be found in the apple orchard around the dojo practicing with her bow or magic, and one night she was approached by her father, August. Danni would always confide in her father, and made no exception this time, telling him all her frustrations with her classmates. He simply laughed and recalled when Danni also thought like them, believing herself to be better than the beginning students. It was a clarifying moment for Danni as her father reminded her that if she was going to become the next head of the dojo, she could not think of herself as better than all others and have preferential treatment over others, but should respect others and instill confidence in others and be an inspiring leader. From that day forward, Danni did not let her classmates comments get to her and offered her help to anyone who seemed to be struggling, but still relapsing to her overconfident self when she earned top marks in class, needing to take time to bring herself down to re-center herself, not knowing that little demon of hers still resides within her.
For the last of her training, Dannis to go out into the world and must find a portal from another plane and stop whatever is trying to get in. On her journeys, she has formed a party with others she has met, they have been traveling together for a long time, still in search of a portal to complete her mission, return home, and become leader of her dojo.
