Sugar the Doll
“I’m not going to kill you, silly. I’m going to hurt you very badly.” The smile on the little doll’s face growing with each spoken word. Her maker struggled harder against the ropes that cut into his skin. “Please, I haven’t done anything to deserve this from you. My sweetest girl, why are you doing this to your father? I love you.” he whimpered as Sugar lowered the dagger closer to her maker’s eye. “You didn’t do anything to me, father. I just want to do this.” her voice steady and soft as she plunged the dagger into his eye and ground it into his socket. Unaffected by his screams, she dug her long slender porcelain fingers into his other eye to see if it felt as soft as the first one.
It has been many many years since Sugar first murdered her maker and was taken into custody by the leaders of Huang. She spent those many years imprisoned for her crimes but her soft words and horrible methods appealed to the leaders. Her sick lust of slaughter would be better used as a weapon more than anything else. She was granted parole under Silent Breath and his team where she was allowed to murder during their missions to her little heart’s content.
Sugar adjusted easily to the system set up by Silent Breath. She never really had to mention the weapon that spent it’s days on her back ever since the death of her maker. Silent Breath and the other leaders knew very well what it was and what it meant. The ax almost as big as her little body, stained with blood she loved to play in, helped her through several of the missions she went on. It did get her in trouble once or twice as well or maybe it was her own disregard for life that did that.
Silent Breath learned over the years to keep the little doll out of the reach of Iros’s followers and took great pains to make sure she was put on missions with no one of that faith after the incident. He lost a few great soldiers that day, either to death or madness. It had been a normal mission, though the leaders knew about the god Sugar followed, none expected her to serve him as well as she chose to do.
That day the air was crisp and the forest was eerily silent. The soldiers hid among the trees waiting for the two merchants that somehow had no problems with crossing the borders and ending up in towns selling wares with no permits. Though they weren’t harmful, it was better to confront them this way before they made it into town and started their ruckus. Sugar had her eye on the group’s fighter for the last few missions. His victories were a mockery to her art and for the first time, she felt hatred. She understood anger.
When she first received the greataxe of Mogis, she was in the middle of ripping out her maker’s intestines. She had a long rope of flesh adoring her pretty shoulders like a feathered boa and she was giggling at all the blood she had drained from his body. The ax appeared on the table next to the body with a loud thud almost at the same time the pounding on the door started. Sugar knew what needed to be done, “How dare they try to stop my fun.” she muttered to herself before grabbing the axe and putting it to work. It took the second wave of men sent to capture her when the first never returned. Sugar has served her god greatly since then.
The fighter stayed hidden in the bushes leading the group as the two merchants finally made an appearance. The moment Sugar had been waiting for close at hand. “Ya know Gah we should expand our horizons! IMAGINE what we will accomplish if we sold to the other areas! When was the last time we visited the other lands?” one of the merchants shouted as they walked along the roads. “Uuuuugghhnnn” the one named Gah replied. The fighter motioned to the team to start taking their places to surround the pair. It was at that moment the time had arrived for Sugar to strike.
As the soldiers focused on moving around, Sugar looked at the fighter and cast mind sliver. The fighter covered his mouth as he tried to muffle his screams of agony. Only a select few of soldiers noticed he was in pain but thankfully for Sugar the casters were far enough away to not detect the spell. Sugar gathered every part of herself and made sure her acting was spot on before telling her guard, “Can’t you see he’s hurt? Someone must care for our leader or do you want Silent Breath to hear about this?” Her soft intimidating words struck a cord of fear in the man and he let her rush over to the fighter. “Let me help you.” Sugar whispered to the fighter, he nodded through his pain and clung to her frail body. The last thing her guard saw was her look of wicked pride as she summoned a door and disappeared with their leader.
The merchants were ignored as the guard shouted out to the others what happened and a rescue mission was put in place of this one. They searched the area knowing she couldn’t have gone that far away but every minute was another minute lost to capture Haung’s weapon or to save a life. When the men finally found them, Sugar had a crown on her head made of fighter’s fingers, it looked to have been woven together with strips of skin. Sugar laughed and laughed as they tore her away from his mangled body. Several of the soldiers vomiting upon arrival of the scene. The fighter was unrecognizable.
Sugar had taken out his teeth and had cut holes into his body to make little “mouths” in the hole wounds. His eyes were ground out like her makers. She had ripped off his ears and somehow attached them to his eye sockets. All of his fingers were used in her crown but his nails were in place of his teeth. His legs had been hacked off and sugar was in the process of hollowing them out when the soldiers arrived.
With the whole team there, Sugar knew she wasn’t able to escape so she handed herself in, smiling from ear to ear at her victory. She knew she had pleased Mogis that day and her anger at the fighter was as gone as he was. Silent Breath and the other leaders wanted to smash her then and there but if a creature as innocent looking as herself was able to create such carnage, what could they use her for if they were able to control her?
As the years passed and Sugar worked with others who fought hard on the missions along with fighting hard with her to realize that her murders were unacceptable, she found that though she longs for slaughter, she also longed for more than solitude. Her views changed as she worked hard to gain the trust of those around her. Of course, she would have to play good and not give into her murder lust for now. She would wait as Mogis would wait with her.
One day there will come a time when the world will need it most and when that time comes, Sugar will bathe in the blood of those she killed and feel their flesh between her delicate fingers once more.
