Chainnigh
Chainnigh is a cool land known for its vibrant green rolling hills, thick forests, peat bogs, and misty shorelines. The Cliffs of an Chláir are considered a sort of natural fortification against coastal invasion letting only a few ports be made in areas where the sharp sudden cliffs relent down to rocky beaches. It is an old and ancient land, untamed and unspoiled by the conquest of large continent spanning nations that have rose and fall in the past millennia. The people of Chainnigh hold old and ancient practices and keep a select few old gods that they worship under different names and different practices than the rest of the world.
Chainnigh is seen of the birthplace of the druidic practices, long ago the very first druids were able to learn their magic from Aurdu in the lands of Chainnigh where it was said they appeared and directly spoke to their followers for one of the only times in history. The very first druids then were taken from the peoples of Chainnigh. The many different people of Chainnigh have their own tongue and types of arms, armor, and magic. The main species that call Chainnigh home are the Firbolg, Selkie, Fairies, Humans, and halflings, though enclaves, individuals, or communities of other species do exist here. The druidic practices of these people then spread across the world, new types of circles being spawned as it spread and all corners of the nature of the world became touched and drawn from with the druidic arts.
Unlike the bright vibrant and chaotic entrances to the feywild that are known to the other nations and peoples of Tirestir there are permanent portals to the feywild in Chainnigh that are known to the peoples of the land. These portals connect to the ancient feywild, places in the very heart of the ancient realm.
The reason this land has never been successfully brought under heel is that the people of Chainnigh are fierce warriors, said to be able to withstand killing blows that would strike down a lesser foe, but moreover the ancient druidic magics of Chainnigh make it so that those who seek to stain these lands with their influence find their country beset by drought, plague, and curses that rot their crops, starve their herds, and reduce fertility among all their peoples. The only way to get rid of these plagues would be to kill the druids of Chainnigh but when they can hide as the very birds in the sky, most nations relent before they fall in due time.
Chainnigh is also ruled in a series of counties all with their own kings, all then ruled by a high king of Chainnigh that keeps the peace between the rest, with inner warring strictly forbidden. The kings of Chainnigh do sometimes raid the lands of other nations, and so long as when they other nations strike back they do not seek to settle the lands, the druids typically do not stop these retributions.
