Darcress
Darcress is one of the oldest nations on the continent, with some of the oldest of the gnomes have great grandparents that saw the disappearance of the Loxodon Empire. The Gnomes of Darcress are said to be responsible for many of the inventions across the continent, and some of the Darcressian engineers are serving in high standing in the Astartii Imperium, Eastpoint, Krent, and any nation that can afford their services. It is said the manic energy of the gnomes are what result in some of the most horrifying, explosive, and usually unpredictable engines of war. It is said the infamous gnome-flinger, a catapult designed to launch individuals, is their invention, alongside the sand-bomb a device that uses a strange type of firesand from Gotburg that is said to be able to destroy entire city walls, if they do not explode before reaching their target among the ranks of the armies who buy them.
The main exports of Darcress are advanced mechanical components that require a degree of precision in their making that other nations without the specialized forges struggle to make without far more effort than it would take to just pay the price it takes to import it. The gnomes also are experts are refining and making alloys and ingots of ore, and their large forges are said to rival that of the dwarves across the ocean, many empires sell their ores to Darcress only to buy alloys and smelted materials back from them because it results in far better armor and weapons for their armies.
It is said some of the gnomes have started to experiment with thigs they called Clockwork automatons, which are devices built around a large spring, that once wound can act independently of a user, some of these being small toys, while others are said to mimic a galloping horse. This type of clockwork automaton is currently in the infant stages of development and only the richest people in the world can afford to buy such toys and trinkets for their children or themselves, unless they live within the borders of Darcress, where clockwork engineers are now a field that is incredibly sought after to gain an apprenticeship in.
Similar to Dinte and the dwarven nations, your ability to be a craftsmen and make art and tools and other things is valued incredibly highly in Darcress society, with the most wealthy nobles being families that run guilds, the wealthiest of them being the noble family responsible for running the Manufactorum Guild on Tirestir. Darcress however is ruled by a council of individuals instead of just one king, with five gnomes making up a governing body, these gnomes chosen from the five largest and most successful guilds within Darcress.
Despite being primarily gnomish Humans, Elves, Halflings, Kender, and dwarves have found their way into Darcress, making up small demographics of the nation. These small enclaves of individuals are treated as equal to gnomes if they can keep up with the fast past lifestyle of their gnomish peers. Although some Tieflings, Aasimar, and other looked-down-upon species do live in Darcress, typically it is away from the city in isolated villages where they can live without worrying too much about fitting into gnomish society.

The leaves are highly sought after for their ability to enhance vision and perception, making them a valuable ingredient in potions and elixirs that improve accuracy and awareness.
Gearbeast
The Gearbeast is an extraordinary creature engineered by the gnomish inventors of Darcress. Resembling a combination of metallic construct and living creature, it possesses a mechanical exoskeleton adorned with intricate gears and clockwork mechanisms. These remarkable creatures are known for their incredible strength, agility, and durability. The Gearbeasts are often employed as loyal guardians, capable of following complex commands and defending their masters with unwavering loyalty. Their innate resilience and adaptability make them formidable allies in times of conflict. Due to the many iterations of Gearbeasts and their varied designs, some have become 'wild' a term used here to define wandering Gearbeasts that will not accept commands except by their inventors, who are usually dead or lost the Gearbeast, and thus act akin to wild animals.
