Nix Alba

Nix Alba is the oldest continual nation on the surface world of Tirestir, existing in the snowy north well before even the Xosutan rose. Nix Alba has never had much ambition when it comes to expanding their borders and instead has had an inward focus during their lifecycle. With their snow covered castle nestled into the high mountaintops of Nix Alba the Snow Elves who live here are generally more technologically advanced than any other nation on Tirestir, yet due to their isolationist and xenophobic nature of their higher ups they are loathe to share these advancements with the rest of the world.
It is said that as soon as you enter the lands of Nix Alba you are under the watchful gaze of the Snow Elves, that you will never see, and never find unless they want you to do so. With the innate magical abilities to whip up this snowstorms, icy winds, and even country sized blizzards, they are practically impervious to invasion and even the smallest villages of their people are easily hidden.
It is said in the far past they once enslaved the people of the Einborn Clan Lands but they rebelled against their elven overlords and decimated the population of the Snow Elven people down to mere thousands left. It was these few thousands, hidden in mountain castles, underground enclaves, or hidden groves that repopulated their people to the sustainable numbers they have today. Due to this bloody history they have a disdain towards the Einborn Clan Lands which are littered with ancient ruins of their people to which they rarely send expeditions to uncover lost lore and ancient artifacts.
The Snow Elves of Nix Alba will sometimes leave their lands to take up adventuring, thinking the bleak white mountainous territory they call home to be incredibly boring. This has led to some small enclaves of Snow Elves appearing in other nations, though they rarely rise above tens of elves in number.

Fauna & Flora

Frostvine

The Frostvine is a resilient and frost-resistant plant that thrives in the harsh snowy environment of Nix Alba. Its slender, silver-blue vines wind their way through the icy terrain, clinging to rocks and trees. The leaves of the Frostvine are small and serrated, resembling delicate shards of ice. During the winter months, the plant blooms with small clusters of pale blue flowers that emit a faint, calming fragrance reminiscent of fresh snow. The Frostvine is known for its magical properties, as its extracts can be used in potions and elixirs to provide resistance against cold, enhance endurance, and even grant temporary invisibility in snowy environments. The Snow Elves of Nix Alba highly value the Frostvine for its medicinal and enchanting properties, carefully cultivating it within their hidden enclaves.
Blizzard Owl
The Blizzard Owl is a majestic creature that calls the snowy lands of Nix Alba its home. With its pristine white feathers and piercing blue eyes, it blends seamlessly into the wintry landscape, making it a formidable predator and guardian. The Blizzard Owl has a large wingspan, allowing it to glide effortlessly through the snow-laden air, and its feathers are specially adapted to muffle sound, making it an excellent silent hunter. Legends speak of the Blizzard Owl's ability to summon blizzards and manipulate snowstorms, channeling the elemental forces of Nix Alba itself. The Snow Elves revere the Blizzard Owl as a symbol of wisdom, stealth, and natural power. They believe that encountering a Blizzard Owl during their travels is a sign of good fortune and protection, as if the elusive creature is watching over them from the shadows.
