Sheysia
Sheysia's vast coastline, thick jungles, and extreme mountains make this nation a territory nearly impossible for outsiders to navigate outside of the ancient roads built by Jingling and Xosutan when they were far larger nations themselves. Despite this the history of Sheysia predates the ancient occupation of Jingling and their present day nation is filled with a rich culture that is insular.
With the dry arid air and rocky hills of the Vian desert giving away to the mist shrouded jungles of Sheysia, many travelers from the nearby nations think the last mystical and hidden, with the "Hidden Land" the "Mists if Sheysia" and "Dark Jungles" being very typical terms used to describe this nation, although what isn't known to most foreigners is that the mists that cover this jungle land are not natural to the environment at all, well not entirely. While the humidity of the jungle environment and the vast peaks and hills would be a ripe ground for fog and mist to form, and it does, the vast majority of the rolling fogs that glide silently through the landscape actually originate from the magical fog that surrounds the conclave of knowledge. It is these fogs that will drift away from the conclave under harsh weather, becoming trapped in the valleys, hills, and jungles of Sheysia. The fogs are magically infused and can take months to disperse, with the magical effect of cause travelers caught in them to find themselves wildly off course, sometimes miles into an entirely different part of the jungles, that is why it is important to hire guides when making your way through the jungles and a profession of rangers known as mist striders have formed that are experts at making their way through this supernatural fog.
Other than the odd mists Sheysia is also known for its creatures with beasts found nowhere else inhabiting these jungles, hundreds of different species of amphibians, jungle cats, and more magical beasts have been documented here. This animal abundance has led to furs and leather being a major export of Sheysia. Mining and thus mineral wealth is a rare practice here as deep holes in the ground can trap the magical mists causing entire mineshafts worth of people to vanish, so the metal that is brought into Sheysia is praised and made to be some of the highest quality available, with layering techniques making even nonmagical blades and armor nearly unbreakable.
This culture is also prized for its monasteries and the monks that dwell in them, with the highest peaks of the jungle mountains regularly seen to be capped with tall stone temples that seem to rise towards the heaven. It is called the birthplace of Ki, and many monks from across the world travel here to learn more advanced methods of their practice that they can not find anywhere else. Despite the fact many monks do no subscribe to the pacifistic doctrine of the ancient Sheysia monks, some still lie to try and receive training, generally not working out in the favor of the liar.
The Sheysian government is ruled over by a king or queen that is said to house an immortal soul, on the death of the king the country goes into mourning, while a select order of 'Immortal Guards' search the nation for the reincarnation of their king/queen, when this individual is found their family are brought to the royal palace while the monarch is sent through a series of tests to prove they house the immortal soul, those who pass rule for life, while those who fail may fall into service as royal advisors.
