Waypoint

Waypoint is a large desert planet with a circumference of around 35,000~ miles. The planet has small seas which are heavy in salt content, and vast mountaineous regions where sparse plantlife grows. The few above ground rivers on the planet are where the majority of civilization is based, but a few cities can be found built at strategic or resource rich locations. It is one of the few planets known where the sentient life under its surface is larger than the population that lives on its surface. Waypoint also has two small snow capped poles, and although there are settlements near these, they life a meagre resource starved existence.
The main draw to Waypoint of many is their production of Orangespice a rare drug that gives those who take it increased levels of intelligence and insight into future events, even as far as to predict them with great accuracy. Taking enough orangespice can warp your body, but also give you greater powers of the mind, even awakening psychic potential in those who had none before.
Waypoint had a vibrant number of species under its surface although those who lived on the surface mostly consisted of Humans, Elves, Genasi, Eld, and a various number of Beastfolk, individuals born with characteristics similiar to those of the beasts that live on Waypoint. Much like other crystal spheres on major flow rivers, Waypoint has been greatly influenced by spelljammers and those who travel through the astral sea, with their coin size adhering to the multiversal average, and the royalty of Waypoint actively trading with Spelljamming traders.
