Tenets of Faith
The Oath of the Ancients is as old as the race of elves and the rituals of the druids. Sometimes called fey knights, green knights, or horned knights, paladins who swear this oath cast their lot with the side of the light in the cosmic struggle against darkness because they love the beautiful and life-giving things of the world, not necessarily because they believe in principles of honor, courage, and justice. They adorn their armor and clothing with images of growing things; Ieaves, antlers, or flowers, to reflect their commitment to preserving life and light in the world. The tenets of the Oath of the Ancients have been preserved for uncounted centuries. This oath emphasizes the principles of good above any concerns of law or chaos. Its four central principles are simple.
Kindle the Light. Through your acts of mercy, kindness, and forgiveness, kindle the light of hope in the world, beating back despair. Shelter the Light. Where there is good, beauty, love, and laughter in the world, stand against the wickedness that would swallow it. Where life flourishes, stand against the forces that would render it barren. Preserve Your Own Light. Delight in song and laughter, in beauty and art. If you allow the light to die in your own heart, you can’t preserve it in the world. Be the Light. Be a glorious beacon for all who live in despair. Let the light of your joy and courage shine forth in all your deeds.Rarely, humans, elves, halflings, or other humanoid races may hear a call, like a faint question in their hearts, asking them if they want to devote themselves completely to Bahamut. Normally it is first heard before adolescence, but sometimes adults hear it as well. Not all those who are called answer, but those who do may undergo the Rite of Rebirth. Those who commit to this demanding ritual put aside all their weapons and equipment, dressing in a simple linen shift. They meditate for a full day and night, their head filled with reminders of all they are giving up. If they elect to go on, they then enter an egg- shaped chamber at dawn and sleep until dawn the next day, emerging as a dragonborn, a noble, draconic, platinum-scaled version of their previous shape, ready to become a permanent champion against Tiamat and her spawn.

Personal history
Avarialle Nasanti grew up on the shores East of Titan, serving on naval ships, hunting pirates, and listening to the superstitious myths of sailors about giant flying beasts that spewed the elements across the lands. The stories enthralled her for decades before the Legion arrived in the North, pushing more pirates South, and her interest in the stories waned in the heat of combat.
It was in the process of protecting transport ships to and from Titan that she ran into young adventurers like Skalt, a cantankerous Half Orc deck hand, and Vimak, a Goliath Paladin that told her of the code of the Ancients. After several skirmishes with pirates, the ship Avarialle was serving on was destroyed, and she managed to survive at sea for three days. Once she reached the rocky shores outside of Romulus, she collapsed in a cave, too fearful of where the enemy might be. One night however, during a fitful trance, Avarialle was met in her dreams by a platinum plated dragon, that told her its name was Bahamut, and that it had chosen her to seek out its enemies. To forget her past life, and all the things she held dear. The people she had served with, and the experiences she had had. It showed her that she had survived with nothing but her wits and its protection, and requested her loyalty. It took several days for her to answer, but eventually, she called to Bahamut in her trance, and she took on the Rite of Rebirth. Upon awakening, she had grown small patches of silver scales across her body.
Now filled with renewed courage, Avarialle left the cave and her old life behind, and wandered into a nearby port. For a year, she worked on various fishing vessels, guiding them through treacherous landings and storms, and learning what had occurred in the world after her ship had been destroyed in the battle against the Legion, and it was here she swore an oath to Bahamut to renew hope and spread light and life.
From there, after making enough gold to equip herself for the new dangers she was sure to find, Avarialle moved West through the mountains, learning of Orcs, Undead, Adventurers and various events that had been threatening the capital of Titan. At the crossroads, she met a fellow Paladin on his way North named Praxis, who shared some of the events of recent, and they shared a friendly debate of philosophies with a quick rest, and game of Dragonchess before bidding each other adieu and Avarialle trekked South toward Titan.
