Personal history
Darian VIII was the son of Darian VII. He was the only son of Darian VII and the natural successor, Darian VIII was loved as much as his father for the pride he took in his lands. The Tostell family ruled as democratically elected Dukes due to the humility and compassion they showed. Darian VIII was much like his father in this aspect.
When the Legion's victory became certain, Darian VII enlisted his son with helping him save as many refugees as possible before they detonated the mountain pass, preventing Legion entry and sacrificing Darian VII. Darian VIII was reluctant, but valued his people above all else. Once his father died in 25,247AE, Darian VIII was elected as the next Duke. He would lead his people through turbulent times, adjusting to the growth in population and the threat of war. Darian VIII vowed to never bend to the Legion.
The Legion made many attempts on his life, but Darian VIII was always careful. He kept himself well guarded at all times, only allowing his daughter, Peach and his adopted daughter, Ranthu, to be with him unsupervised.
Eventually, the Legion would have Gaelen put a bounty on the Duke's head, taking advantage of Adventure Incorporated's True NeutralTM policy. Ranthu's friends would trick her into giving her father poison, killing him.
Darian VIII would be the shortest sitting for a Tostell as Duke, being only 4 years long. His death resulted in unqualified leaders taking advantage and sending Titan on a downward spiral.
