Eyebright

The Eyebright flower is a flower that grows in swamps. During the night, the flower blossoms and glows, giving the area an eerie glow. The Eyebright flower can be turned into a dose of ointment to treat Sight Rot, a disease which can be caught in the very area Eyebright grows.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Eyebright flower is a large, bulbous flower that ranges in a soft pink to a deep purple with deep green fern like vines that sprout from the base. Every night at midnight, the flower blossoms and it reveals its bright yellow center, which appears to give off it's own light. This creates an eerie glow in the areas Eyebrite is most prevalent. It is only when the flower has blossomed that the flower can be harvested.

Genetics and Reproduction

Once in a while, when the flower blossoms, it's glowing core begins to pulsate as it releases glowing spores into the air. Once the final spore is shed, the glow fades completely and the Eyebright flower dies. Despite giving of dozens of spores, only a few spores that comes from the original flower will create new Eyebrights.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Eyebright flower takes only a few weeks before it is fully grown and will reproduce. This gives off the appearance that the flowers move around on their own.

Ecology and Habitats

The Eyebright flower thrives in moist, warm conditions. Areas that have ample water and heat, such as swamps, allow the Eyebright to thrive.
