Tithen (The Iron People)

The Iron People traveled across the Continent from the Tithen Empire when it fell to the Legion, losing half their number in the journey. They are a strict, traditional people with an ancient history that dates further back than "The End".

Common Etiquette rules

Honor is paramount in the Tithen culture. To lose one's honor is often the equivalent to losing one's life, sometimes literally. They are a very private people, preferring to deal with their problems themselves, and outsiders are often looked down upon.

Common Dress code

The Iron People, despite their name, tend to dress is loose fitting silks with sashes in order to carry their weapons and pouches. Wealthy merchants can often be found carrying odd gadgets on leather straps. Geta sandals

Art & Architecture

The Tithen Empire is a mix of Dwarven, Draconic, and Human art styles. Their gear is expertly crafted, their structures solidly built and tall with sweeping roofs covered in red, earthen tones.

Coming of Age Rites

Nobles are trained from a young age to defend themselves, both to encourage discipline and physical health. By the age of eighteen, they are gifted a personal katana, crafted by the Royal Swordsmith. They are taught that this katana is their life. To lose one is to lose the other.

Common Taboos

The Iron People are private. Personal information and space is given the utmost of respect.

Common Myths and Legends

The Iron People have a profound respect for Dragons and Dragonborn, whom they see as the descendants of the former. The Tithen Emperor has been a long line of Dragonborn, believed to have begun when Dragons defended the Tithen Empire from the Vastishaith; a massive beast that attacked from the ocean and nearly decimated the nation before it was chased back from whence it came.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

Traditionally, women are seen as weak and suitable for servitude. They are to stay home and raise children, tend to fields, and generally take care of most household duties. Males are allowed to pursue administration and train as warriors. Since coming to Titan, a modern movement has begun to strive toward equality that the Council of Advisors are eager to quash.
