Illadrias Vow : The Tale of Lyra's Last Stand

History

The loss of the Lilios at the hands of the Kromas and the subsequent Illadrian pledge, left many hearts drowning in fear and tears for the uncertainty of the universes future. Many songs and poems sprung up across the cosmos from tales of woe to songs of hope with many missing their mark. The poem below come from a travelling Ulain performer, Xagkor who has performed the poem to crowds far and wide though they always avoid any worlds sympathetic to the Kromas, since the poem does not paint a flattering light of historical events. The tale has since been used as a warning to many younglings across multiple races of the dangers of the Kromas and their relentless conquest.

Poem

Amidst a world of dreams they dwelt, the Lilios, proud and free, In Lyra's lush and fertile land, they lived in harmony. Connected to the spirits deep, to nature's sacred flow, Their culture thrived, their hearts alive, a bond they'd always known.   Then came the day of ill fate's hand, the Kromas' dark advance, Their planet rich in precious gems, a twist of cruel fates chance, With invaders' boots upon their soil, oppression's bitter reign, Forbidden were their sacred ways, their language, rites, and claim.   Forced into toil, as slaves they bled, their spirits yet held strong, Commander Zazil showed no grace, for him, the mission's long. The Lilios' world transformed to grey, their sacred hills now scarred, Yet 'neath the earth, they clung to hope, their hearts, and souls unmarred.   In shadows deep, they hatched a plan, defiance in their gaze, They trained in arts of stealth and war, to stand against the blaze. Their spirits fuelled by flickering hope, they rose to take a stand, In sabotage and bold attacks, they fought to free their land.   But Kromas hearts knew naught of grace, they struck with ruthless might, Igniting flames that scorched the skies, a cataclysmic blight. A hundred million souls were lost, a tragedy profound, Their planet, once a thriving world, a lifeless husk unbound.   The aftermath, a solemn vow, the Illadrian decree, "To protect the innocent we pledge, side by side are we. The fate of Lyra shall not pass to others far and wide, In unity, our promise stands, a vow that won't subside."
