History

Second Era

The Order of the Time Keepers was established early in the second Era on Illadria by a group of academics and scholars with the intention to preserve all Illadrian history in clear, blunt and unbiased records with no uncertainty or information left unclear. Half way through the second Era with the discovery of the Veiled Realm, Ekos Rivindor expanded the Order, beginning research into Arcane relics and phenomenon in order to expand Illadrian universal understanding and further the Orders cause into archiving complete and detailed history of not only events but artefacts too.

Third Era

The Order continued to develop its reputation with regards to maintaining historical archives as well as advancing the frontiers of science through arcane research. By this time the Order had become well established as a respectable and formidable institution having only the best and brightest researchers folded into its staff. In the late third era the Time Keepers began to expand upon its initial purpose, applying techniques and knowledge from various artifacts and combining them with modern technology to produce a variety of devices from utility to military, though without any bias or external influence. The technological marvels developed by the Order in conjunction with other organisations are widely regarded to have established the advent of advanced space travel.

Fourth Era

The Orders technological deleopments stagnated slightly with the advent of easy interplanetary travel and while the order continued to maintain historical records their attention turning to archiving and researching non-Illadrian history and artefacts, setting up several bases of operation throughout their sector of the galaxy. During this time one inventor, Zipia Loren, developed the first wearable device capable of sorting vast quantities of information between the onboard databanks and the wearers own central nervous system. The first device while cumbersome was soon refined into a simple wearable gauntlet applying both native Illadrian technology and information gleamed from discovered artifacts, a welcome technological marvel which assisted greatly in field research. With the discovery of new races and the eventual establishment of the coalition, the Time Keepers continued their research though became increasingly secretive to outsiders in the name of Illadrian security.

Fifth Era

The Order of the Time keepers suffered heavy losses during the Battle of Iknothep having expended most of their powerful artefacts in beating back the enemy. The confrontation and threat is widely considered to have been entirely avoidable had certain sensitive records not been made public knowledge. This near loss spurred the survivors to focus their research on increasing defensive forms of technology and make the entirety of their records and archives unobtainable to anyone outside the Order except by special request. With faith and trust in the Order having taken a substantial blow aside from the archival duties the research division was mostly absorbed into common Illadiran technological development which utilised research archives the order made selectively available to rapidly expand the societys technology in way of atonement. The Time Keeper organisation slowly begun to crumble towards the end of the Fifth era with decreases in funding and support with other organisations taking over the primary role of technological development and the Order was relegated back to purely maintaining the archives and historical records.

Sixth Era

With the ever increasing exploration of the Galaxy revealing more and more dangers and horrors from within our universe itself and beyond the Time Keepers became more and more secretive and established one of the first ever specialist tactical units separate from the Illadrian military, utilising their own research and knowledge to prepare to protect Illadria and its surrounding worlds should the need arise. During this time the coalition began to dissolve and the Dark War began, the Time Keepers, while still not entirely trusted after the Battle of Iknothep were deemed Illadrias best hope in protecting the Crystal Oscillators responsible for maintaining the powerful Illadrian home world defences. Establishing three separate Time Keeper units, each team hid their Oscillator Crystal and set up bases in far off unsuspecting worlds to keep their knowledge secret and blend into alien societies with no purpose other than to protect the crystals locations.
