ExDec (X-deck)

A process on the continent of Laas called Examination and Declaration ("ExDec" for short) that must occur each time a non-resident enters a new city. It consists of an itemization of ownership, a thorough questioning and a fee. Any of the three that are missing or questionable can be means for non-entry.
Colloquially known as “passing through the gates.”
