Azer

Azers are a race of Elementals related to the Dwarves of Tol. According to tradition, they were originally among those dwarves taken prisoner by the Giants during the Dawn War. Unlike many dwarves, they readily turned away from the worship of The Thanes of the Five Halls and began to worship the Primordials. In particular, they became allies to the fire giants, teaching them many of the dwarves secrets of forging and making. This betrayal caused them to become particularly despised by other kinds of dwarves.
Those few Azers that live on Tol tend to reside in Jotunheld, where they still serve Giantish masters. The vast majority dwell in the Elemental Chaos, particularly the City of Brass, where they are valued for their craft and skill.
