Dragonborn

Dragonborn are a warm-blooded race, reptilian in appearance, who hold special a reverence for Dragons and for The Dark Lady and the Bright Lord in particular. They originally hailed from the ancient Empire of Azmartheon. After their Empire was reduced to blasted desert by the War of Ashes , they haven’t held any particular land as their own. They wander, upholding their honor and serving as mercenaries or bodyguards. Their traditional battle cry is Kat’zhu na Azmartheon ost, which translates roughly as “Azmartheon will never die.”
Although they are warm-blooded, dragonborn are hatched from clutches of eggs. A large chunk of eggshell is saved by one of the parents when a new dragonborn hatches. At the age of 15, a dragonborn undergoes his or her ceremony of Drathonas, signifying that they have come of age. At that time, an adult relative presents the dragonborn with an amulet fashioned from their birthing shell. This amulet typically takes the form of a necklace, a belt piece, or a shield cap.

Many dragonborn families of Azmartheon had family names that began with a specific syllable or syllables related to the draconic words for the color or metal of their dragon type.
