Jaipal

Jaipal is a major city of the kingdom of Chadramauthry in southern Velnar. It's sometimes referred to as the Jewel of the Kaveri, as it lies just above where the Kaveri River empties into the Sea of Serpents, and the river is a major part of everyday life. It enjoys a strong presence of powerful merchants who act almost as minor lords, hiring mercenary troops to guard themselves and the city in general.
