Kashati (kuh-SHAH-tee)

Kashati is a tree that primarily grows in western Yesharia which produces a drug known as Dreamleaf. Despite the nickname, it's the seeds that grow in long pod-like sheafs on its branches are harvested due to their narcotic properties. Harvesting the pods is dangerous, as the plant will defensively release puffball-like growths from its trunk, sending out spores which are poisonous to most humanoids. The victims die in nightmare hallucinations, literally frightened to death.
The seeds are dried and then ground to a thick, oily paste which is smoked in long-handled, broad-bowled pipes. When the paste is consumed this way, it produces euphoric feelings and colorful, vivid visions. Some people prefer to rub the paste directly along their gumline behind their lower lip. This produces a more intense high, but the visions are more concrete and frightening.
