Tijal (tea-JAAL)
Tijal is a dessert of snack enjoyed in the communities and families of Chadramauthry. It is a cow's milk cheese, treated with an alchemical reagent that prevents it from melting, combined with either honey or preserves, and which often has nuts or spices added to it. It is traditionally cut into cubes and served in a single bowl that the community, family, or group eats from together, passing it around and sharing it. It is often shared when there has been conflict as a way to bring the community back into harmony with sweetness.
