Near the end of the Age of Apostasy, an individual completes 63 trials, 7 for each god. To both gain their favor and grow in power. They sacrifice themselves in a selfless act to delay the end of all things. The monumental nature of their sacrifice erased all evidence of their existence. Save for the fact that in addition to their final act causing their erasure, it shattered their necklace into 9 parts that scattered across the planes. Vadik prophesies that they will be needed again. However, even working together, the gods cannot divine as to their locations.
