Gurund Famers

The Earth Genasi farmers of the fertile Gurund Farmlands are blessed with a rich and plentiful land. The farmers here use their innate connection with the earth to spring large and plentiful yields which provide most of the food for the Earth Genasi cities to the west.
What is most unique about these farmers is their style of cultivating. Due to their magical nature unlike The Continent which yields orderly farmlands stretching miles wide to feed the huge armies and cities, the Gurund Farmers typically plant their batches wherever they please across the fertile prairies, seemingly doing it for the enjoyment of it more so than the yields of their labors.
What species and products are produced?
The most popular fruits are the Groto. To outsiders these are quite the exotic fruit as they have the texture and makeup of a blueberry but blossom into bright colors of all sort depending on the farmer that grew them. They also are quite large and roughly the size of a small pumpkin.
Other indigenous plants include tomatoes, maize, and lots of cranberries.

Qualifications

Any Earth Genasi can go to work the lands of Gurund and is often seen as a place to happily retire among many of the Earth Genasi.

Career Progression

For the most part those that work in the Gurund Farmlands have no plans but to peacefully grow their crops and live on peacefully. However there are some with great ambitions to start their own fields elsewhere and spread the crops across the Archipelago and others who wish to use it as their path to fortune.

Payment & Reimbursement

Trading caravans from Gaken come often to collect crops at a typically stagnant price that covers the basic necessities of the farmers, which isn't much. After that Gaken sells to the other major cities beyond and occasionally a caravan from the town of Esmerine will come by which offers a large bounty for the crops as they rarely come by and by aplenty as the Groto berries do not spoil fast when grown properly.

Other Benefits

Gurund Farmers are widely known throughout the Archipelago for their Groto berries. They are in high demand throughout the Earth Genasi islands and the Air Genasi have been known to also highly prize them. Those with the best magical talents in growing these berries, producing rich and vibrant colors, can expect to find a seat at some of the finest and richest nobles in the Earth Genasi lands.
