Islebeast

Islebeasts are a handful of large deer-like species with muscular frames and wide antlers native to the Tiorath Isles. Instead of hooves they have broad, webbed toes that alongside their muscular body allow them to swim between the Isles. They have a second wrist on both of their front legs and claws at the tips of their toes to help them pull themselves up steep embankments when leaving the water.
Most species of Isle beast feed on thin leaves and shrubs, and follow the warmer months to ensure a stable food-source (moving to the southern isles during the northern autumn and vice-versa). They breed in the north during spring (by northern hemisphere reconing) while in the north where the grazing is best.
