Tinesword

Summary

The Tinesword is the weapon of choice for The Godcasters of Sether, a weapon who's means of construction is kept secret by the Godcasters. The Tinesword is wielded only by the Godcasters, and as such only four exist at a time, three for the High Godcasters Kilric, Endros and Olrad, and one for the lower Godcaster, Aih'aya.

Construction

Use

The weapons serve both as swords in melee, and as ranged weapons capable of casting spells with abnormal strength. To cast spells through the weapon the user simply spins the blade at their side until a slight humming can be heard, then cast any spell they could otherwise cast through the blade. Spells cast through the weapon have greatly increased range and effect, at the cost of requiring a small charging period for the weapon.   This advantage was due to spells being carried easily due to the Tines of the weapon directing the magical fields created by spinning the blade forward, creating spell currents that carry the Godcasters elemental spells particularly well.

Appearance

The Tinesword has a structure like a long tuning fork in the center, the outer sides curving inwards until they come to a gap no thicker than the blade of a sword (with some variation in thickness depending on the blade being fitted to the Tines). Blades are fitted into each of the gaps, extending upward just beyond the Tines, ending with two tips that slant inward while still leaving a small gap.   The two forks meet at their base becoming a metal rod, which serves as the core for the weapons handle. The handle can be made of a myriad of materials, and vary from weapon to weapon.

Materials

Tines and Core- Singing Steel   Blade- An alloy that usually consists of 5% or more Singing Steel.   Handle-Various

Methods

The Methods of refining the alloys used for the blade are known only to the Godcasters.
