Athazor

God of cinders and flames

Athazor the Lord of Cinder, is a red Dragon, and the god of cinders and flames. Obsessed by those before him who accessed godhood, he plotted to become the god of flames. He lives for the destruction and enjoys seeing the world burn.

Characteristics

Physical features

Athazor used to take on the guise of mortals to guide his follower, or to embrace the seed of conflict and destruction. Among those guises, two are his favorites.
Taking the shape of a wood elf, a druid member of the circle of wildfire, he guides the druid, stirring them onto a path of destruction and uncontrolled flames. Armed with a long metallic staff on top of which dance a flame, the druid wears a light robe, reinforced with leather. The tattoo on her right arm glowed and danced like the flames exulting from her hands as she cast a spell.
The bulky man's musculature is impressive, even by dwarven standard, the flames dancing on his head, and his beard of fire giving off a soft light, everything under the dwarf's light under his presence, the aura of an unstoppable force. The dwarf wields an impressive hammer, the head of which digs into the ground, smoldering as it is still red hot from the forge. A shield in the dwarf other hand gives off the smell of burnt leather, probably cause of the leather strap in the azerblood iron grip. Dressed with only a chain skirt and large boot, every detail of his large build is visible.

Lair

The Lord of Cinder was entombed on the sea floor, his wrath and flames creating the volcanic activity that sprouted the Night Island under which he is still trapped in a lair that is also his prison.

History

Dawn of the Dragon-God

In Toriel's ancient past, when the dragon heroes were fighting Zuth, Athazor was just a wyrmling, eyeing the hero with a growing obsession. When the main hero of the story were fighting Zuth directly, he was part of the bulk of the forces, facing the cursed dragon fearlessly. Soon, he was recognized as an incredible warrior among the dragon, young, yet his flames were burning hotter than anyone else. But this recognition wasn't enough, Athazor was jealous of the dragon who fought Zuth directly, who accessed godhood, and with the sight of his elder gaining such power, he had a new objective.

War of the Ancients

When the Demons entered Toriel during the War of the Ancients, Athazor fought again, now an adult dragon, he was unmatched in strength and skill. Yet this wasn't enough to drive the demon away, and the dragon god had to step in again with the dragon soul. But the artifact was corrupted, and Neltharion betrayed the dragon god. This was enough to drive Athazor crazy, he hated the dragon gods, who were weak enough to fall for such a trick, and he had to get stronger by any means to show them how to act as a god. With the war of the ancients ending, Athazor went on a quest for power, burning to ashes any resistance on his path, leaving a trail of smoke and cinder. This is when he gained the title of Lord of Cinder. During his adventure, he acquired a lot of knowledge and many power. The mortal feared his wrath, giving him everything they had to try and drive him away. In his quest for power, he faced the strongest of demons and challenged the wiser of angels.

Challenging the god

Athazor challenged @Surtur, hoping to achieve godhood. But despite his prowess in battle, Surtur nearly killed the red-dragon, leaving him alive in an act of pitty and humiliation.   This was Surtur biggest mistake, Athazor grievously wounded, had been infused with Surtur's flames. From his wound, the flames started to spread, covering the dragon's scale and body, granting him yet another power.   Once healed, Athazor faced the god of flames again, with his newfound immunity to the divine flame, the fight against the god was rather balanced, the dragon launching himself towards his prey and striking with speed and rage, wounding Surtur.   Athazor won, the consequences of this battle were felt all over Toriel, large fires starting in numerous regions, flames all over the world flickering and exploding outward. But the flames of this world had a new master.

Entombed

After his battle, and with his newfound power, Athazor's wrath was unstoppable, and a group of dragon-gods decided to put an end to his wrath. The lord of cinder was entombed on the sea floor, his wrath and flames creating the night island over his tomb. Ever since, the island is a beacon to dragons, and thus hosted many battles. This, in turn, caused the island to be suffused with the Magic of the slain dragons.
