Axe Beak

"A breed of flightless birds, characterized by their yellow feathers, distinct odor, and the unforgettable chirp, "kweh!" Domesticated for their gentle nature and quick feet, they are often used as a mode of ground transportation."
Large avian creatures, Axe beaks are common equuivalent to horses, being domesticated for use as mounts, for pulling carts and carriages and for racing.

Physical features

Axe Beak get their name from their sharp wedge-shaped beaks. Axe Beak are generally depicted as White-ish birds with three-toed feet, small wings, long necks and powerful legs which they use to print at high speeds. Axe Beaks are flightless and generaly faster runners than most horses.   Axe beak are also known for theyr signature "kweh" cry. Males are predominately raised as steeds, as females are sometimes considered ill fit to ride. Sometimes Axe beaks are used for racing. Axe Beaks have an infamous pungent odor.   Axe beaks are most commonly found in hills and grasslands, such as Beecher's Hope in which they are most common. Axe beaks are popular mount of the Verdan in the lightfoot land. Though often domesticated, Axe beaks can be found in the wild and sometimes fought as enemies.   Flocks of axe beaks are also believed to be protective of their young, rushing to its aid in case of danger.  

Diet

Axe Beaks eat mainly grass, and any kind of vegetables but are most found of carrots.  

Abilities

With their powerful legs, Axe beaks are faster than most horses. With their powerful talons, some breeds aare also able to walk up almost vertical surface such as mountains without problems.
