Clovis Tana

History

As Seraphina had no heir, the throne eventually passed to Leopold's child after the untimely demise of his aunt.   Raised as a haughty noble by his father, Clovis was perceived as a tyrannical and often profoundly ignorant ruler. He spent most of the court's money on organizing grand feasts and games, which he enjoyed watching.   Under Clovis's leadership, the Colosseum in Holypertuis was built, and the royal games were created.
The Royal Games are a series of festivities held in honor of the ruler, taking place at several locations throughout Tana's Empire. The grand finale of the games is the Battle of the Champions, a prestigious tournament of knightly combat.
Clovis's rulership faced a challenge from the son of Windrin Duke and the former spouse of Charle Tana, Geoffrey Windrin, half-elf and the half-brother of the ancient empress Elris Tana. He later made himself known as Geoffrey Tana, taking over his mother bloodline as he faced Clovis Tana.   Initially, Geoffrey's claim was easily rejected, but Geoffrey challenged the emperor with its own game. He challenged Clovis in one of the royal games, the grand final known as the Battle of the Champions. In a dramatic turn of events, Geoffrey emerged victorious by defeating Clovis in a deadly duel, ultimately leading to the dethronement and Death of the former ruler.
