Elvish or Elven

Elvish, or elven, is the language of the elves and their kind. It is a relatively ancient language, even by elven standard, derived from Sylvan, and it possesses the same musical quality as Sylvan.
Throughout history, the elves' prominence among mortals, especially after the War of the Ancients, resulted in the widespread diffusion of their traditions and culture throughout the world. This influence extended to their language, whose alphabet serves as the foundation for the common script, as well as their calendar, which continues to be utilized to this day.
