Garav's Gang

"They were united by their love of gaudy, colorful, fanciful outfits, of stolen trinkets, beautiful horses, and of swords ... They stood out because of their arrogance and conceit, overconfidence, mocking truculence and impetuousness. And their contempt."
Garav's Gang, roughly translating to Wolf's gang in common, is a young gang of criminals in the duchy of high zephyr known for stealing from the rich to satisfy their own material wants, including having the best horses, clothing, and accessories.   Each member comes from different background, and the group takes on the name of Garav's gang after someone referred to them as restless Wolf hunting for gold, and they all liked this comparison.

Goals

The Garav's gang is just a bunch of chaotic, mindless killers who do everything they do for entertainment rather than profit. Something that made them harder to track and prevented most internal conflicts.

History

Initially the law ignored the Garav's gang, believing the group would soon fall victim to the usual methods that wiped out other gangs: be killed by a mob of peasants or fight each other over loot. However, the Garav were different in that they didn't kill for the goods, they killed for entertainment and thus handed out the goods to the poor citizens in the area, which also made it harder for troops to track them, as the citizens would give false information on the Garav's whereabouts and even shelter them on occasion. The empire then tried to offer generous rewards on the Garav, but any informers had their cottage set on fire and were summarily killed by the Garav when they tried to escape the burning building.

History

A team of like-minded scoundrels gathered by Patrik Knave, rising from bandits to mercenaries. After winning the favor of Benjamin Windrin, Patrik was titled baron, and the band became the owner of a small keep.   However, Baron Knave gambled poorly when he backed the elven rebelels, as despite heir success, he couldn't flee the empire in time. Stripped of his lands, the exiled baron now abides in the wild with his crew of miscreants, knavish ex-knights, and wielders of magic.   Called the Garav gang by locals, Patrik and his crew lurk along a caravan road, robbing travelers under the pretense of a “bridge toll.” His current base of operations is an abandoned water mill, but he doesn’t intend to abide in this backwater forever. Once he gathers enough treasure and mercenaries, he’ll reclaim his lands.
