Nesiven

You can do what you want, Too much is never enough
— Nesiven

Goddess of blood, maternity, love and wine

Nesiven also known as Elisia by humans is the goddess of blood, wine, love, and maternity. Worshipped by many, her exact domain is unclear and tends to change depending on the pantheon.   Nesiven is considered the goddess of forbidden fruits in the elven pantheon. She is the goddess of wine in the dwarven pantheon, the goddess of blood for the vampires, and under her human name, Elisia, she is the goddess of love and maternity for the human pantheon.   It is said that she often takes on a mortal form, to walk along with the mortals of the world.

Characteristics

Physical features

Elven pantheon

Depicted as a naked elf woman with long red hair surrounded by nymphs, she also represents the forbidden carnal pleasure.

Human pantheon

Elisia is recognized as the serene, maternal god of love, her arms spread wide as she offers a mother's embrace to her worshipers. Almost every human settlement contains at least a modest shrine to solicit her favor. Elisia appears to mortals as a motherly figure.

Dwarven pantheon

Dwarves highly admire Nesiven and depict her riding a purple worm, carrying barrels of beverages through inns.

Worship

Elves

Elves believe the goddess is watching over the places of pleasure, the inn, and other taverns around the world, as long as wine is flowing, the goddess is watching with an amused look.   When celebrating Nesiven, it is usually done through dances, the biggest celebration for Nesiven is in May, generally in fields where people dance and sing.

Worshiper

Worshiper of Nesiven generally promotes wine and polyamorous love. Some go as far as saying making love is how you pray Nesiven.   cleric of Nesiven think they have a mission of hope and a message of love in this sad world.

Humans

Worshiper

No one grows up worshipping Elisia. She is the goddess men and women turn to for aid in finding true love—and later help in making children. But once people find Elisia, they find it hard to stop following her. They come to temple daily and make offerings, praying for more and more guidance, perhaps to keep their marriages strong. Perhaps because they can’t pull themselves away.   Families are buried together in underground tombs, which are built to look like living quarters. Paintings adorn the coffins, showing couples in loving embrace (forever).

Clergy

The temples of Elisia are dominated by female acolytes and priestesses. Their primary goal is to find the proper marriage of a man and woman, based on love and not based on wealth or land acquisitions. They use cards and dice to augur the fates to match men and women properly. Afterward, a magical charm or elixir might be used if one of the parties does not see they are right for one another.   Acolytes of Elisia make and sell cosmetics and clothing to help women attract a mate. Elisia’s paladins are great diplomats, focusing on debate rather than the sword to solve problems.

Dwarves

Worshiper

Dwarves worship the goddess as one promoting carousing, breweries, and booze. Some dwarven barbarians also revere her as a deity who does not fear the future.

Vampires

Vampires worship Nesiven as the goddess of blood. Especially when blood has a similar effect on higher vampires as alcohol on mortals, the vampires worship the goddess as a goddess of carousing and pleasure.
