No matter how useful or dependable an ally might be, Xorannox is nearly incapable of resisting the urge to betray his allies. He assumes, as do most beholders, that the natural end of all alliances is betrayal. It’s just a matter of who stabs who first.

History

Xorannox mind is powerful beyond belief, even among beholders, Like others of his kind, his presence in the Razor fields was the catalyst for the apparition of Purple Isana, and soon, the entire razor fields where covered in a thick haze corrupting the mind of the creatures living within it.   Xorannox ruled within this mist, as the god of those land, and dreamed into being the mistpeople, humanoid in the lands of the beastfolks that worshipped him. Rumors of this god started to spread through Pandaros, as the evocation of the "god of the mist" was enough to send shivers down the spine of the inhabitant of Pandaros.   The mistborn started to plot to expand the haze, to grant their god full control over the entire island of Pandaros, and attacked settlement of beastfolks bordering the mist, spreading the influence of the corrupted haze. THose living in the mist were inevitably corrupted by the purple Isana, turning into mindless monsters.   However, Xonnarox was paranoiac, and constantly sought ways to protect himself of potential attacks, nesting in the core of the mist, where it's corruption was greatest, and creating countless defenses and traps for those who would seek his demise.   Xorannox ruled from the center of the corruption engulfing Pandaros. His domain is the White Tower, a massive alabaster spire resembling a giant finger, located in the Misty Vale.   The adventurers, having learned about Xorannox from a Ghost they encountered, set out to confront him. The ghost had revealed that Xorannox was the source of the mist and that the epicenter of the corruption was the Misty Vale, where Xorannox resided.   The White Tower, Xorannox’s stronghold, is heavily guarded. It has no windows and only two entrances: the main doors and a secret underground tunnel. The adventurers faced four abominations guarding the entrance, who turned hostile when their ruse failed. After a fierce battle, the adventurers managed to gain entry to the tower.   Inside, the adventurers navigated through various chambers, eventually reaching the bottom of the tower. There, they encountered Xorannox. Weakened from previous battles and surrounded by Mistborn, the adventurers struggled against the Beholder's powerful rays and the Mistborn's attacks. Despite the odds, Cyria gave a heartfelt speech rejecting her own identity as a Mistborn and renewed their resolve to defeat Xorannox.   The adventurers managed to bring Xorannox down. As Xorannox’s body crashed onto a balcony, the tower began to crumble. The floating library inside the tower collapsed as the purple slime turned into mist. The adventurers barely escaped the tower before it collapsed completely.   With Xorannox's Death, the constructs tied to his existence, including Cyria, faced oblivion.
