House of Knowledge
The House of Knowledge is located at one end of the Dolphin Bridge, at the northeastern end of the The Wall in the Protector's Enclave.
One of the largest temples to the god of knowledge and wisdom Oghama,, it was used as an aid station and temporary home for refugees during the Spellplague. To protect the collection of books and scrolls, a priest, Loremaster Atlavast , was locked into the collection, and tasked to maintain it fearing the worst, sealed the inner sanctum. The works within could not be allowed to rot alone, of course, so one young priest — Atlavast — volunteered to be sealed in with them. For twenty-eight years, Atlavast has lived alone with the temple’s vast collection of knowledge and lore. He is an eccentric recluse now, forever cataloging and reorganizing the sacred archives. He is rarely glimpsed, but the occasional flickering light that filters up from cracks in the cobblestones in the dead of night reassure guardians on the Wall that he’s still there.
Purpose / Function
Hold safe sacred scriptures within the inner sanctum
Act as a public library to the city of Neverwinter, although since the second sundering it is mostly used by wizards, bards, and worshipers of Oghma as most civilians dont have much use for books.
