Vellgard Manor
Originally the Dadan Estate, the Vellgard Manor was the site of the bloodiest massacre in Neverwinter history.
The Dadan family had been a prominent Neverwinter family and founders of the The Waterclock Guild in the city. During the early 1200s DR magic users and artisans began entering the city and growing in numbers. The Dadan family (being nonmagical folk) sought to outlaw the use of magic using the power of the Waterclock Guild to sway city leaders.
On Alturiak 14, 1328, Dadan Estate was overtaken by sorcerer forces lead by Alred Vell who took up residence on the grounds and buried the Dadans in the Blacklake.
After their successful coup, the Vell family built massive sturdy walls and metal gates to protect themselves. A plaque next to the gates reads:
"Those who wish to take our home, will pay the price of blood and bone."The estate has been known as Vellgard and a Vell has lived behind its towering walls ever since. The Redbrand Ironworks built the fortifications.
