Personal history
Like many Spiritfolk of Idai, Kaen technically was born and raised in the Spirit Realm, a heavenly realm to the people of Idai. As part of the Great Mentorship, many individuals of the Spirit Realm were allowed to manifest physical bodies in the Apparent Realm (the Material Plane by other scholars), partly to impart wisdom and spirituality upon the people of Idai, but also to intermingle the peoples of the Spirit Realm and the Apparent Realm. As such, Kaen had a second 'birth' on the Material Realm to Beastfolk parents, both of whom were Kitsune. Kaen spent his physical youth detailing his adventures in the spirit realm as well as learning the trade of entertainment, particularly fire dancing and playing music. Kaen, however, was always something of a jester and comedian, publicly making fun of several individuals of the Idai Shogunate, and as such, had earned himself a reputation for being a 'trouble-maker'. As such, with more and more ire being directed at him, he was forced to emmigrate from Idai and take up the life of the travelling entertainer and adventurer.
