Geckoid

The Geckoids are one of the native races of Osse. They are an androgynous race of lizard-looking people. They often live in forested areas, and as climbers, they like to live in trees. Geckoid also have long prehensile tails.

Physical Description

Geckoid skin comes in various colors, such as yellow, green, blue and white. Geckoid are 4 to 5 feet tall as they are typically hunched over. For length, from tail to head, they are about 8 feet long. Sexual dimorphism exists in the Geckoid race. Males have spikes on their backs and tails, while females have feathers. Female feathers are akin to hair. Generally, females are brighter colored as they have access to a greater variety of colors through their feathers. For other features, Geckoid have teeth, do not have lips, and have 5 fingers/toes on their hands/feet.
Geckoid do not need to wear clothing as they do not have any visible genitals, nor does the temperature in their typical environment require it. The clothing Geckoid do wear is for functionality, such as for climbing and storage, or as decoration. Rope clothing is common, such as rope harnesses, rope skirts and rope bandages.
Geckoid use simple weapons such as spears and blow darts.

Culture

Geckoid are a social and friendly race. They originally were a nomadic, but hidden race. Overtime, a majority of their people have transitioned into a more open merchant-style race. Considering this, money is one of the best gifts for a Geckoid. Although Geckoid are against slavery, as merchants they aren't oppose to selling and trading slaves.
As a social race, the Geckoid often adopt the cultures of the people they are near and interact with. For celebrations, Geckoid celebrate occasions such as a completed deal or a change in station, and whatever other occasions are celebrated from their adopted cultures.
The Geckoid are quite disease resistant, and therefore will eat almost anything. Geckoid hold value in the life of a person and will not eat them. A common dish in their cuisine is watered rice with insects. One might call this dish an insect risotto.
The relationship culture of the Geckoid is polygamous, and they typically do not have marriages.

Ability Score Increase: Your Intelligence score, your Dexterity score as well as your Charisma score are increased by 1.
Age: Geckoids can live to reach 80 years of age.
Alignment: Most Geckoids have a chaotic alignment due to them being primarily a freedom loving species.
Size: Your size is Medium.
Speed: Geckoids have a base walking and climbing speed of 30ft.
Scale and Coin: Geckoid receive proficiency with the Persuasion and Deception skills.
Tree Surfer: Geckoid ignore the first 30 ft. of fall damage and can fall safely. In addition, they can add their Proficiency Bonus times 5 to their jump height and distance. This does not allow them to move further than their speed allows.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Undercommon.
Prehensile Tail: A Geckoid’s tail may be used as if it were a hand, however it cannot be used to wield weapons or shields. It can be used to wield almost anything else.
