King Derid Kendrick
High King of the Moonshaes Derid Kendrick
An inheritor of the Kendrick legacy, Derid Kendrick comes from a long line of Moon Shae rulers. Other than the ambassador, few soldiers have had the honor of meeting the high king. Those that have report that he is a reasonable man who only seeks to salvage what little remains of his kingdom.
Reign
Derid's reign has been filled with turmoil and strife. Since taking control of the kingdom after his father's passing 25 years ago, the king as been met with challenge after challenge. A decade into his reign, the once unified Isle of Alaron began to fall back into chaos, the Norlanders who had long since pledged allegiance to the king began to break away and form independent and isolated tribes. After a long and hard fought conflict with the tribes, Derid retained control of all land South of the capital city.
Wealth & Financial state
Much of the wealth still controlled by the Ffolk Kingdom rests in the hands of the high king. The exact amount is unknown to the Lord's Alliance, however it is estimated that the king retains 500,000 GP is reserve, as well as a treasury of precious metals and jewels.
5/1/1: King Derid is visited by the Druid Rotnog, Where she explains how it is almost time for the Moonshaes to consecrate the Earth Mothers Temples. King Derid agrees and sends word for warriors who are capable of getting it done. Just then he remembers that his friend Jericho Oustgard from Yorinth said that he knew a warrior who he owes him a sort of debt. He contacted the Duke to see if he was avaliable and up to get that warrior recruited.
5/3/1: The duke replies and says that he has a warrior and his name is Phalux and Phalux will attempt to recruit who he can to help him out on the quest. The estimated time of arrival for the group would be around the 15th.
5/8/1: The King puts out a notice for any other warriors to join the party as well as he anticipates a low response
5/15/1: Phalux and Amber arrive at the mooonsheas they specificallhy arrive at Caer Calidyr. He heads straight for the King. There at the king he tells him that he was able to hire two more adventures and it was Barney and Lydia. Just as the King was telling the party the quest to consecrate the temples. The king notices a Grung was with them. He introduced himself as Lusturous Floy'd and said he followed Amber and Phalux all the way from Neverwinter since they mentioned his lost brother George Floy'd. The king explains that there is 5 temples that the group has to consecrate in order for the Earth Mother to protect the moonshaes for another 100 years. These temples will surface and the coming of them will be noted by the moon. Just as he was explaining this a rouge named Eli tried to break into the castle to steal. There the guards took him to the king. The King saw some good in Eli and offered him freedom in return for completion of his quest. The party is told to head to Lehigh. The party gets a free rest at the Caer Calidyr Inn until they are ready to head out south.
5/16/1: King Derid hears word that the goblins under the Great Gark have attacked Lehigh and are doing something to it. He sends a squad of soldiers to dispose of the goblins and find out what they are doing.
5/20/1: King Derid recieves a report that the golbins were trying to summon some entity. Which entity is unknown but many townspeople died and it was dangerous for the adventureres he also recieves the tragic news that Phalux and Barney have perished. He is very sad to hear this and decides to contact the duke of Yorinth. The Duke was upset but said it is the path of a warrior to always tread death. Phalux was unlucky. The king hopes the remaining advetnureres can get it done.
5/24/1: Derid hears word that the temples started to resruface he sends scouts all along Alaron to see if he finds them. He also hears word that the adventureres have completed the temple of Life. He is happy as taht is 1/5 temples complete.
5/26/1: The temple of the Beast has been located and it is in the Dernal Forrest. He send Fruoh Rotnog to lehigh to tell the adventureres where it is.
5/28/1: Another one of his scouts finds another one, in Jotunspine, he hires Kingsly Coman to take his ship to Warlsbury as thats where the adventureres will meet him. Coman agrees
5/30/1: A couple of days later the king is visited by the adventureres Amber, Lusturous, and a Fighter named Boutou Kam. They tell him about how everything went and the king tells them to head north and then wrap around to Warlsbury as the next temple the temple of the Sun has been located in the Norheim Isles in Jotunspine.
6/12/1: The king gets a visit by a huge surprise, Phalux. There Phalux tells him how he awoke at Lehigh and all of his exploits. The king tells Phalux the job is not over yet that there is still two more temples. He sends Phalux to wait for the group at the Temple of death.
6/17/1: King Derid gets word that there is only one more temple left to consecrate. King Derid is happy for the expample
6/28/1: King Derid gets word that all of the temples have been completed he gets notice that there are a ton of casualties. He mourns them all and honors all of them. Moonshaes have finally been consecrated
7/2/1: The party arrives at Caer Calidyr and the king congratulated the party, he provided noble houses for Phalux, Aurthum, and Amber, he congratulates the other adventureres, Zephyr, Lucha, Mello, Boutou and tells them they are welcome anytime. He provides them with gold. The adventureres hear a thud and King Derid goes to take a look and sees downed guards. Someone was spying on them. He sounds the alarm and they are nowhere to be found
7/4/1: King Derid gives up on finding the intruder and Aurthum calms him down telling him that its for the best as he was not the target but most likely another party memeber.
7/21/1: King Derid finds word of goblin attackers attacking Lehigh, he tries to get Boutou and Lucha to help out but they pass out he sends word for adventures in hope they will make a switft reply
7/28/1: A kobold shows up, he sends two guards with him to go fight the hoard of goblins. They suceed, one of the guards were saved by Trawlindy, King grants her tuition to study Cleric ways in Holyhead
8/13/1: King Derid hears word of multiple giant animals attacking people in the wild. He sends hunters and rangers to deal with them.
9/10/1: The Giant animals are getting out of control as he gets constant requests from multiple settlements for guards. Rotnog suggests to research these giant beasts. King calls for Phalux to be able to come help out he sends word for him. He also begins hiring Lucha, and he suggests rotnog to give her apprentice to come for the research, so Aisha joins too at the kings command. He suggests an up and coming researcher named Boutou to come with them as well.
9/19/1: Amber Phalux and a bard named Haldir arrive, he gets them all to go together and assigns them their task
9/21/1: Boutou, Amber, Phalux, Aisha and Lucha head to the river, there they fight a group of giant animals that are extremely deadly. Aisha the druid speaks with animals and finds out that they want to be killed and that the Earthmother has left them. They capture a crab and take it to the king. King Derid Kendrick reseearches the crabs and thanks the party. Kind Derid mentions how he hopes that the Temples were consecrated properly.
9/22/1: King is chilling when he hears a loud Bang. A Giant Tortoise is attacking Caer Calidyr, the King sends his men. Party then head to the King, the king tells them animals are increasingly getting violent even tame ones like tortoises. He asks them to please figure out what is going on and to wait while they finish research too. Party agree and sleep.
9/23/1: City wide protests are happening that accuse that the Heroes of the Moonsheas actually did not consecrate the temples, he ensures they were and gets the party to do a speech to calm them down.
9/26/1; Research is going well on the Giant Crabs they are learning lots.
9/30/1: The researchers find out that the Crabs are not even of the Moonshaes and they are native to the region of Gavinfur in the East. Kind Derid Kendrick has a friend named Lord Baylen who is the lord of a city named Dagger Cove. He sends a pidgeon enquiring if everything is okay
10/7/1: He recieves a message back from Lord Baylen, he finds out that there is currently a curse and a crisis going on around the broken coast and its beacaues of a hag, he does not have the warriors to kill her and requests help. Kind Derid sees that this is potentially spillover from there and since historically the moonshaes and The Broken Coast have a close connection, he thought to ask the warriors to help him out.
10/8/1: The party goes to get breakfast and they go to El Halcon and meet head chef Zounkie. He gives Estia free food. Party heads to King Derid Kendrick, They arrive and then the King fills them in that the crabs were not even native to the moonshaes and that they are native to the region to the west known as the Broken Sea. He contacted a lord of a settlement by that sea and his name is Lord Baylen. The Lord requested King Kendrick to help him out with a curse placed on them by a hag. This could be related to the Moonsheas issue as both areas are linked in thier mythology. He asks the party to go and do that. Aisha, Estia, and Amber do it, and they prepare to head on out.
10/17/1: King hears about multiple cities needing aid for the Giant Beasts attacking him, his kingdoms defences is growing thin.
10/30/1: Things are getting worse, calamity is growing, people are becoming restless. Many priests, druids, and shamans believe that the temples were not even consecrated.
11/7/1: King Derid gets good news recieved by lord Baylen and hears how the party was able to get rid of the hag and uncurse their lands, he hopes that this will result in Alaron and the Moonshaes to be uncursed as well. King Derid waits.
11/16/1: Chaos continues to happen so he sends out many shamans and priests to consecrate any unconsecrated temples, he gets a hold of Binzo who tells him that the temple of death he consecrated himself and was desecrated so the others could have been desecrated too, He sends Binzo to check on the temple of the Sun. He tells him to head out within the next couple of days
11/20/1: Party go back to caer Calidyr, Trawlindy says goodbye. Party goes to see the king. The king says to everybody how the Moonshaes is going to hell, he tells them that Binzo a couple months ago had to reconsecrate a temple as it was desecrated and there was a chance all the temples were desecrated. He sent people to consecrate all the temples and they are all consecrated except for one as that temple is yet to be consecrated and people he has sent has not returned. This is the temple of the Sun. Party rests a Caer calidyr as they will join Binzo eventually to consecrate the Temple of the Sun. Party rests.
12/10/1: The King congratulates the party and is very happy with what is going on. He calls another celebration and everyone is happy. Amber, Kounkie, Boutou, Astel, Aisha, Phalux, Jabar, and Thaldor, and Mello are celebrated as heroes.
