Scene 3: The Helm at Highsun

Walking into the tavern "Helm at Highsun", the sound of a rowdy crowd and rhythmic music becomes noticeably more predominant. The room is bustling with people of multiple races, and there is a fair deal going on at every table.   The party walks up to the bar, imagining that ordering at a distance could take some time. They're faced with the jovial but grasping Garlen Harlathurl (male Tethyrian human commoner), the owner of the tavern. He seems to be used to the busyness of the tavern by the way he raises his head on a regular occurrence to scout the room for any raised hands within the tavern full of thirsty travelers, merchants, and locals.   Garlen notices you and doesn't hesitate to ask you what he can get you, but you notice that he has already started pouring you an ale.   As a result of the rowdiness of the bar, the party doesn't shy from asking questions about some information on The missing delegation . The only reply you get is 4 cups of ale and a simple shake of the head easily spoke by itself, saying; "I'm not the guy to ask right now", but he nods towards a round table with three commoners sitting around it.   The party approached the table, and the people sitting there seems to be enjoying the day as a rare occasion. You're met with the three jolly people, and they're already on the subject of the missing delegation in a loud conversation. You declare your interest in knowing what they know, and without a heartbeat's hesitation, they give you the information that they know.   - Quest Lead -   One of the tavern denizens is a very drunk and argumentative female half-orc. She says her name Zomith, and that she's caravan guard that recently quit a caravan that came from Beliard through Westbridge , arriving in Red Larch two days ago. The caravan continued south without Zomith, but she can confirm that she brawled with Mirabaran guards from the missing delegation about fifteen days ago. She couldn't care less what happened to them, but she had nothing to do with their disappearance.     Another person shouts at you, to ensure that you can hear him over the loud music. "A dozen beautiful old books written in Dwarvish showed up in a cargo of a shady keelboat skipper in Womford ". He presents himself as Endrith Vallivoe , a local shopkeeper, who bought one of the books from a merchant that recently arrived from Womford. "There's no mistaking that these books were what was being transported by the delegation, I can't say for certain what that means, but I can't imagine a delegation resulting in selling important goods as such to shady merchants".     A third person starts shouting from the same table, he presents himself as Larmon Greenboot, a humble shepherd that tends to his cattle and sheep outside of town. "Four new graves—simple rock cairns, really—have appeared on a windswept hilltop in The Sumber Hills , a few miles outside of town". He explains that it's rather strange considering that he walked past the no more than a couple of tendays ago to check on his grazing sheep, and after prompting the habitants of Red Larch about it, no person that lives here did any actions of such sort, nor are anyone missing.   "It is miles away from any other inhabited settlements, and if it were done by someone from another town, they would have passed by Red Larch for certain", Larmon says. He has obviously had sufficient to drink, as this seemed something that he was particularly curious about, despite the party requesting information on the delegation. He continues by saying that he'll gladly take you there, but insisting that you wait until morning, to give him time to sober up. Quest: The Shallow Graves   Nonetheless, this information piques the party's interest and agrees to head there the day after.
