Session X: Ascending the Scepter Tower

General Summary

Kai, Flux and Arli, lead eagerly by hopes of finally reaching their long sought goal, found themselves assailed by a creature of the shadow realm, known to Arli as a Balanoth. As the illusion of their newly discovered treasure horde fell away, the party fought to find shelter from the clutching grasp of the creatures tentacled limbs. Though valiant their fight, their party was one less for their effort, as the creature vanished into the darkness, Arli in tow. Unable to follow after their companion, the party pushed onward, up into the tower from below. In the under-croft at the base of the tower, Flux and Kai discovered a trove of artifacts and arcane works being conducted and studied. It was here that Kai found a set a scrolls locked in metal tubes which he believed to be the same magic scrolls Nelethorp had tasked them with finding. Still exhausted from their harrowing encounter with the Balanoth, the remaining two fought exhaustion to ascend and escape the confines of Spellgards realm below. Reaching the surface mid night, they worked their way back to the monastery as quite as mice.
