The Monastery of the Precipice

Purpose / Function

The abbey serves as a place of refuge for explorers of Spellgards ruins, and travelers of the mountain paths. Good food and strong drink can be found here, as the monks also specialize in distillation.

History

The adventurer Kuryon built the Monastery of the Precipice to minister to those coming to Spellgard in search of prophecy. His larger reason for doing so remains unknown, but many believe that Kuryon was instructed to build the place by Lady Saharel herself.
Kuryon and those volunteers he could recruit from among the seekers of Spellgard built the monastery stone by stone from the remains of the ruined fortress. The building is a mix of military fortifications and the stonework of a bygone age.
The monastery is now home to several monks and other seekers who hope to gain the lady’s favor through their actions and gain an audience with her.
