Guldor Stonewind
He is a mountain dwarf, his clan fortress became assaulted by undead horde in the underway Stonewind clan got stretched to the limit by the endless horde trying to break into the hold Guldor was a young smith in the armory, as much as he wanted to be on the frontline, his service was too desperately needed there. A sudden tunnel collapse triggered a wall in the main hold to break, and a horde spilled in, and slaughtered many dwarfs.
The Stonewind warriors collapsed most of the tunnels in a gambit to retreat, the warriors returned to the main hold in a mad rush, Guldor was found barely holding on in the armory with some women and children, he bore witness to the insane slaughter
In the aftermath the Stonewind clan is devastated, Clan King Thregnar Stonewind issued the largest grudge in Stonewind history, and swore infinite vengeance on all undead, and allies of undead.
However to finish adding the grudge to the book of grudges, the perpetrator needs to be known per tradition before an infinite grudge can be placed.
Volunteers were called to leave the remnant of their mountain home to find anyone responsible, those who find the perpetrators get recognition, and a high position in a guild.
Those who enact vengeance upon those who caused the great suffering can compete to be the kings successor and name is carved on the wall of heroic ancestors.
Guldor who had lost basically everything in the attack, his immediate kin were killed in the cave ins, his house wealth crushed deep under stone, volunteered,
He feels like he was a coward, only defending himself in the fortified armory, and brought shame upon himself.
He volunteered, Thregnar didn't get many applicants as most the warrior folk were killed or injured. So Guldor was given a master set of dwaren plate, took some of his tools, and a warhammer he made to figure out who wronged his clan, or enact his clans vengeance.
Through his travels he learned the source of the undead was a land known as Chult to the south. He traveled, allied himself with the Order of the Gauntlet, and was doing scouting missions when he got found by a bunch of raving madmen who shatter everything and recruit anything they don't shatter.
