The Seeds of Plenty

"You see child, we Rooted didn't always live here in Tosormi. There was a big drought that killed all our crops, leaving the people starving in its wake. Apparently the drought lasted for several years.   So people left. Some came here to Tosormi to find a land that was largely inhabited, the Wanderers were here but they were few and the lands were vast.   But you see, the climate here was so different to that of the lands where we came from, so the people didn't know what to grow. Then, they were gifted a sack of seeds from the deities. This crop grew well in this land and saved us from starvation.   The first harvest one seed from every farm was saved and kept as a reminder of all we lost and gained."
The Seeds of Plenty are an important part of The Rooted history and lore. According to them, seeds were given to them by the deities so that they could survive in this new land.   After the first harvest from these seeds every farm saved one seed from the grown crop and put them in boxes adorned with their farm's symbols. This boxes were then given down to the next generation and they became both a symbol of prosperity and good fortune, as well as a way to show that you belonged to one of the original 25 families in Tosormi.   Throughout history, before the The Lomians arrived, the Seeds have showed up several times in stories of inheritance fights and similar. Even before the Lomians arrived, at least six of the Seeds were lost due to fighting, stealing, and people hiding them too well.

Where are they Today?

The Seeds of Plenty, as they are called, have great cultural value to The Rooted as they play a part in their history in Tosormi.   Sadly, during their enslavement by The Lomians, most of the seeds were lost as their farms and villages were taken over by Lomians who didn't know what the weird singular seeds in boxes were.   Today, only four remain as far as we know, with three of them being in the Old Imperial Palace museum.
