The Blindfold of
Helle is one of her Mightems, specifically one that possess the Holy Might of
Draconians, granting it a great power over most Draconians.
Holy Might
A Mightem contains within it the Holy Might of a
God, with some even combined to hold more than one. They are enchanted to hold them. A Holy Might is the representative power of a God's domain, with Helle in specific also having ones that pertain to Greed, Envy, and Chromatic Dragons. This one, in particular, is Draconian.
Might of the Blindfold
The Blindfold of Helle's power over the Domain of Draconians comes from Helle creating the Draconian people. While wearers of the Blindfold cannot create Draconians, they can utilize that power of creation that lingers in all Draconians. That inherent connection to Helle.
With the Blindfold of Helle, the wearer can control all Draconians. They gain complete control over their minds, actions, and lives, being able to do with them as they please. Basically bringing all Draconians back to their mother, their creator Goddess, in the case that some have strayed from her path.
Limits
Phrixus, Helle's brother, counteracts this very power. Phrixus understood what evils Helle could do with control over all of her people, and so he severed that connection with anyone blessed by his word. Worship of Phrixus, by virtue, disconnects one from Helle. Therefore, if one worships Phrixus, they cannot be controlled with the Blindfold of Helle.
Verthica Draconians, who were made by Phrixus and not Helle, are also immune to the blindfold.
All of this being said, worship of no God does classify someone as a Helle worshipper, as their connection is not severed by Phrixus. Thus, only Phrixus worshippers are safe from the effects of the Blindfold of Helle.
The Blindfold
The Blindfold itself is made of a simple cloth material. With its enchantment, wearers are able to see through it if they have a connection to the Goddess Helle. The stronger their connection, the more they can see through her Blindfold. This is meant to show that they are not blinded if they worship Helle, but otherwise people are blinded completely.
There are very few people, even scholars, familiar with the effects of the Blindfold. Even fewer know of its exact location and wearer at any given time, though those that do know of it often assume it cannot be in the hands of the Temple of Helle, as they feel Helle would wish to use it.
