Thina the Centurion by Jarhed
Passing of the Title
The Centurion is not a position for life. They are encouraged to retire before they grow too old, as a Centurion that has grown too old is not fit to help others. However, as long as they can help as many people as possible, they are allowed to maintain the title.
Upon retiring, the title is passed down to the next best healer in the Legion by vote of who the Legion believes to be the best healer.
History
The Centurion title did not always exist. It is said to be a modern invention from the
Age of Heroes, when a
Mamman healer named Aaina came to prominence in the legion.
Aaina believed the Legion to be aimless, and due to her skill as a healer, she was able to rally the Legion behind her. Due to this, she became the first to hold the title of Centurion.
However, it traces its history back to the Legions founder, Ludhar, who many retroactively call a Centurion despite the title not existing at the time he was alive.
Thina the Centurion
In the late 400s and all the way until the year 560, the title of Centurion was held by a Nephilim known as Thina.
Thina was a heinous individual who enforced barbaric, draconian policies for the people of Ludhar's Legion, and followed the orders given to her by the
World Court. Most notable among these orders was to only heal those that the World Court deemed worthy of life.
Lorakaen Shinebright by Yumedatchi
Thina often came into conflict with rebel forces, such as Jargar Eltan, who cut one of her wings off. However, it was the
Half-Elf Lorakaen Shinebright, the only healer of the era that could rival Thina, that gave her the most trouble.
Lorakaen was offered to enter the Legion, but declined the request because of personal obligations. Later, she came into conflict with Thina because of how Thina ran Ludhar's Legion, ultimately being the reason for Thina's downfall in the year 560.
Lorakaen the Centurion
After some time, Lorakaen would take over the position as Centurion, holding the title for hundreds of years. She generally kept to herself, but would still keep up contact with the world leaders so that she could allow the Legion to go around the world.
Lorakaen was not close with many figures in the world, but there were some that called her friends. Captain Commander Hadon Leran of the Elven Army, The Devil known as Expressive Mastema, The teleporting warrior Stranger, The Magician
Orlayas Ojeux, and the 69th
Grand Wizard Ardar Tilrak were five long-lived and prominent figures who she was connected to for much of her life.
