Dòngxué Hēi'àn is a cave situated below
the Celestial Palace. Yet the cave itself is never the main subject of conversation when Dòngxué Hēi'àn is mentioned. It is, instead, the myth associated with the cave that is often spoken of.
Heise Zhi
The current Heise
Zhi's former name is unknown, and due to this the exact validity of the tale is sometimes called into question. However, he swears that this story is true.

Heise Zhi was born as a
Weave Stained Verthica Draconian , with horns growing where his eyes should be, as well as bioluminscent, pitch black skin. For this, he was exiled from the Celestial Palace, and tossed down to the depths below.
Yet when he reached the bottom, the land where the other races lived, he did not find a quick death like he had always been told. Instead, he found that he was met with a cave. This cave was Dòngxué Hēi'àn, a cave with no access to light, hidden beyond where anyone would dare travel.
It was in this cave that Heise Zhi would spend the majority of his life. He initially entered and made it his home, where he trained for about two-hundred years. Yet the legend states that he did not stay within the bounds of the cave.
Instead, at the far reaches of the cave, he found himself entering the
Dark Plane. While many would be hindered by the darkness that blinds those that enter it, the man that would become Heise Zhi was already blinded from birth by his Weave Stained horns. This allowed him to navigate the plane with more ease, and connect with dark
magic on a level that no one had previously.
When the future Heise Zhi returned from the cave fifty years later, he was initially met with disdain. To have dared to climb the mountain after being thrown out was perceived as mocking the traditions of the Verthica.
The newest Zhi, Guang Zhi, was especially abrasive to the dark mage. Yet the Draconian that had returned from the cave challenged them to a fight to show his prowess in dark magic, both Guang Zhi and the Heise Zhi at the time. He had easily defeated Guang Zhi, which was a feat no one believed possible for a dark mage. Yet with what he had learned in the dark plane, it was not difficult to take down the new and inexperienced Zhi. Then, he defeated the Heise Zhi of the time, a very old and experienced man who was thought to be unstoppable by the other Zhis.
Guang Zhi by andreaspsillos4
After showing his prowess with Dark Magic, the Heise Zhi of the time believed that this young man knew more than him in terms of dark magic. Due to this, he willingly retired from the position, giving the title of Heise Zhi to the newcomer. In doing so, the new Heise Zhi abandoned the name he had held previously to become Heise Zhi.
Repercussions
Heise Zhi proved to the Verthica that Weave Staining is not inherently negative, but can instead be used beneficially for mages and scholars to delve deeper into certain subjects. He explained to them how his blindness had allowed him to adapt to the Dark Plane and learn from it, rather than lose his way and die, and suggested to them that this could be the case with other Weave Stains as well if they use it to their advantage.
After Heise Zhi, many Zhi were Weave Stained, as it was seen to be more useful. In his mission, Heise Zhi had changed Verthica Draconian tradition, and overtime became the head of Verthica civilization, even beating out his senior Guang Zhi who still stands beside him. Guang Zhi still holds a grudge against Heise Zhi for defeating him that day all those years ago, as well as for becoming the head Zhi over him despite Guang Zhi becoming a Zhi earlier than Heise Zhi.
To this day, after six-hundred years, Heise still lives as the head Zhi, and welcomes outsiders and Weave Stained with open arms. He still does go to his cave on occasion, and trains any students he has in this cave.
