Draconic Breath

Natural in all Draconian people of Totania is a power, an ability also wielded by the Dragons of Totania: the power of breath. With it, they can breathe magical, elemental energy.

An Innate Ability

Draconians have the ability to breathe like they do because of their ties to the language of Ancient Draconic. It was spoken by the Dragons they were made in the image of, it was spoken by their creator Goddess Helle to make them, and it was spoken by them for a large part of their early history. Thus, even when they stopped speaking in Ancient Draconic, its magical effects remained.
Ancient Draconic is a language that, with the right amount of willpower behind it, can create anything that is spoken with it. This manifests in Draconic Breath in the way that anyone could mimic this innate ability by speaking the word of an element in Ancient Draconic. By saying "fire" one can, potentially, breathe fire.
Draconians have no need to. They can simply breathe fire, or another element, as they please.

Types of Breath

The type of breath that a Draconian has mostly depends on two factors: their elemental affinity and the color of their scales. The list is not always certain, and is subject to change, but it is as follows for scale color:

• Red: Fire
• Blue: Lightning or Ice
• Green: Poison
• White: Ice
• Black: Darkness
• Yellow: Fire or Light
• Orange: Fire or Light
• Purple: All elements

As for how elemental affinity plays into this, it is simple: if a Draconian has an elemental affinity that is not their standard breath, they can also breathe that element.
