Beads of the Ancient

The Beads of the Ancient are one of legendary Asen Relics kept in the Troumshrine, created in a time many generations past. They are able to increase the health and lifespan of a mortal wearing them. As most Asen Relics stored in the Troumshrine, they regained their full powers in recent years.

Description

The Beads of the Ancient are an accessory worn as a necklace. They have three rows of beads the size of a small nut strung together by a mesh of leather strips. Each marble is made from colorful stones or amber, with a single pearl in the very center. Most beads are inscribed with a single Tövereen Rune.

Effects

Eternal Youth

Wearing the beads will preserve the age of the wearer as long as they wear it. They will not gorw older, although somehow hair and nails will keep growing. Taking off the beads will continue the ageing process at a slightly accelerated rate.

Eternal Health

When suffering any injuries or afflictions while wearing the beads, they will heal within a few seconds, returning the wearer to their healthy state. This inlcudes broken bones, detachments or destruction of limbs, burns, impalement and decapitation. The part connecting to the beads will heal, but the wearer will feel everything.

Side Effects and restrictions

The beads have some internal capacity for magic, but over time they will slowly drain the magic from the area around them to sustain the wearer's life.
They have no positive effect on the wearer's mental health. If anything, the original owner Medwes Ewigsin grew slowly insane over the decades.
The beads are in fact able to protect a wearer from a God's power of destruction.
You still grow hungry and thirsty when wearing the beads, but can survive without nurishment. While the starved body appears to be healthy, the wearer will lose energy, motivation and mental clarity due to the lack of sustenance.

History

Created through a bargain of Medwes Ewigsin with an unknown god at the start of a large conmflict between the gods in the past.-
Was worn by Medwes for centuries, during which he grew older very slowly.
After Medwes died of unknown reasons, the beads resided in the Drained Valley, sitting in the center of a region devoid of life.
Teleen the Green finds the Beads and brings them to the Troumshrine a few years after its founding.
