Assault at the Cold Cabin

A detailed conflict between trespassing explorers held up in an anomalous cabin and mercenaries hired by the Klementine Company.

Prelude

September 27th, 1890 eight assailants gained access to the Yellowstone Plane via the classified location of Outpost Bessie, a small walled-up camp residing in the dark abyss of the landscape. Believed to have disguised themselves as employees for the Klementine Company, the culprits stole equipment and supplies before venturing into the plane.   Discovering the aftermath of trespassers, seventeen mercenaries hired under the Klementine Company and its parent business Kingfisher Limitedset out into the pitch-black dimension. With only the lights of their steed's cyan imprints on the sand that leaves trails behind.   With their horseback advantage, the mercenaries closed the gap on the unknown trespassers: Held up in the Cold Cabin, a notorious landmark in the Yellowstone Plane for its strange out-of-place existence in the landscape.

Engagement

Mercenaries aren't commonly hired to talk down a situation. As the cavalry arrived at the scene, their aggression rode along with them.   Immediately gunshots were set off to announce their presence. Echoing through the infinite abyss of the pocket dimension. The line of firearms blasted into the cabin, where the eight culprits hunkered down for rest and protection. Piercing and splitting the horizontal logs.   The trespassers made a stand inside the cabin, using the enclosed building as an advantageous cover.   The volley of bullets was sent back and forth. Each cackle of gunpowder set off reached the eardrums of those at Outpost Bessie miles away. The Klementine mercenaries surrounded the building, trying to shoot every crevice of the cabin, but still, the trespassers held on.   The only source of last was the blast of power from every barrel, and the dancing footwork of mercenaries around the cabin leaving cyan glowing footprints behind. The changing sands lifted and dropped the lands. Like an ocean storm of earth, and the cabin trying to weather the storm.

Aftermath

Gunfire quiets as the cabin is surrounded by the stiff bodies of hired guns. The trespassers managed to thwart the threat and even possess some horses that survived the firefight. The battle lasted less than an hour and dwindled their supply of munitions.   The bodies were looted for anything useful before the crew of now six ventured further into the Yellowstone Plane.   The Klementine Company did not elevate this situation to proper authorities due to their own illegal and classified actions that they were conducting in this supernatural realm outside our very own.   Instead, the Klementine Company reinforced their walls with armed men, certain the culprits would have to return to the surface at some point...
