Montgomery Isaac

Chairman of Kingfisher Limited. A business tycoon with a silver tongue and a smooth-caramel southern drawl, but deals in sinister trade and conspiracies.

History

-Early Life

Montgomery 'Bernard' Isaac was born to Reginald Isaac and Teresa Isaac, in a blue-collar household on the outskirts of Pioneer, Lousiana. He grew up on adjacent to slave colonies that worked the fields of a large plantation nearby. His father worked as a fur trader, selling as many hides and pelts as he could to make ends meet.   With the lowering demand for new furs, Reginald fell into a rage and fell further into a bottle; with his family taking the full brunt of it.   His mother, Teresa, passed away from tuberculosis when he was seven, leaving him with his anguished and wrathful father to care for him. Avoiding family life, young Monty would often venture into the wild with a few of his friends in his community, playing games, climbing trees, and swimming in the pond.

-An Encounter in the Forest

Here, he would experience his first encounter with a beast. When Isaac was nine, a sasquatch ambushed his group of friends, killing one of them right in front of him. Not wanting to back away from a fight, the young boy charged the sasquatch with a skinning knife his father would use for work and ripped through the beast's abdomen; spilling its entrails to the floor until it no longer moved.   Word spread in the town of the heroic feat: a child defeating a monster twice the size of a normal man. Isaac became a small celebrity in his town, being appraised by the small community for his bravery, but his father disagreed. Reginald didn't see it honorable that he let his friend die, putting down his son with comments that he let someone die on his watch and stealing valor.   His father would often abuse him, blaming all his problems on his son. Through the regular beatings, Monty hardened himself, forcing himself to mature faster to defend himself against his raging drunk father.   Monty's father passed away in 1865 after a heated argument about the South's secession in the Civil War turned sour, resulting in him getting shot in the stomach. Leaving Monty orphaned at fourteen.   Rather than picking up where his father left off, Monty decided to leave his old memories behind, adventuring to new towns in hopes of a better future.

-Civil War

Monty himself did not favor the ideals of slavery at all. Growing up and playing with black kids on the plantation, Young Monty never perceived them as less significant than he was. In fact, during his reign as chairman for Kingfisher Limited, he was one of the largest leading businesses employing African Americans in southern states   His family, specifically his father, on the other hand, was adamant about his right to own slaves (though his family never did), becoming a leading supporter of the Confederacy.   The United States Civil War started in 1861. Isaac was not old enough to be conscripted into the Confederate army, but a wealthier benefactor paid him to fight in his stead in 1863, at the age of thirteen. Isaac endured grueling times   With the secession of the Confederacy, Isaac's father was still stubborn on the ordeal, keeping strong to his beliefs and rights to his property. Denying the freedom of his slaves, they began a revolt against Reginald Issacs. A small skirmish emitted between freed slaves and their former employers, dismantling the whole establishment within a day. Reginald Isaac was killed in combat during this skirmish, ending the fight and the reign they lived under.   Young Monty and his remaining family brokered a deal to allow free slaves to find accommodation on the premise; allowing a plot of land of their own to begin their own community.   Montgomery helped support the growing community in any way he can: providing paid employment, constructing roads, and assisting in agriculture expansion. The community is still prosperous to this day and has become a central hub for Kingfisher Limited.

Education

Isaac was illiterate until he was eighteen. The government-funded Trapper station he worked in had access to tutors and a small library, allowing Isaac to gain confidence in self-reading and confidence.   He began enjoying poetry, especially the works of Walt Whitman. The passages and rhythmic text opened a more exotic vocabulary for the gentlemen, bringing a more sophisticated demeanor to his presence. In the span of two years, Isaac began reading at a high level, surpassing the reading and writing skills of most trappers he worked with.   Isaac was also fascinated with modern science, seeing the potential it can bring to the world and pioneering a new business market if tapped.   In the present day, Montgomery Isaac enjoys a book every now and again. Learning more about history, science, arts, and trade to further improve his knowledge

Work

-DSA Trapper Station

Escaping his old life, Isaac found solace in a federal Trappers station located north of Dumas in Arkansas. There he gained first-hand experience and training in the field of trapping. His prior knowledge and experience when helping his father on hunts allowed the young man to learn quickly.   He had to halt his Trapper career after being found out he is not a fully registered Trapper under the DSA guidelines, enforcing him to leave the job.

Kingfisher Limited

Isaac managed to be accepted at Kingfisher Limited. He was employed as a Cryptozoologist due to his prior experience as a Trapper and his extensive knowledge from reading textbooks and bestiaries on the subject. The company was a privatized science firm, wishing to understand further the secrets of the universe and beyond. The company even assisted Alexander Hartridge on the Great Road Project . Isaac assisted the company in his position for almost six years. His passion for the job became stagnant, and his lust for power corrupted him into unethical decisions. Decisions like his own proclamation to running Kingfisher Limited himself. Luckily, he had six years to orchestrate this symphony...   He began making plays for the company...

-Takeover of the Company

On his exterior facade, Isaac began acquiring powerful friends in high places. Showcasing his leader-like attitude and strong business understanding to give him a public image of a rising potential in the science industry. His adoration and fascination with modern science made him seem competent and very intellectual on all sides of the fields (which he was).   He was invited to gentlemen's clubs and social gatherings frequently, giving him more opportunities to showcase his philanthropist personality.   However, in the shadows of his mind, he was also using his suave persona to convince and win the crowds of some shady underbelly patrons. Manipulating mercenaries and Faun Poachers* into sabotaging the very company he's employed with. Orchestrated raids on Kingfisher labs and buildings created an unsafe environment for scientists. The staff turnover was very high due to low morale. Additionally, the company records and documents were leaked revealing controversial discoveries and improper use of given funds; causing many backers in the company to withdraw. Leadership was questioned and through a Board decision, the Acting Chairman along with a few other board of directors of Kingfisher Limited were removed from their seats.   The decision of the chairman's replacement seemed rather obvious to many board members. Isaac placed himself relatively everywhere around this company. He was seen as the posterchild of this company and needed change. In 1880, Montogmery Isaac was sworn in as Acting Chairman for Kingfisher Limited. He now had full control of the company   His leadership decisions were seen in full swing as the company grew almost tenfold in just seven years, his decisions leading to new discoveries and technological advancements that have helped humanity further. The company also expanded to other competing industries such as transport, mining, military manufacturing, and even the fur trade.   Deep inside, however, the unethical underbelly of Kingfisher Limited was just as, if not, more prosperous.

Social Aptitude

Montgomery Isaac is a people person. He has respect for anyone in any social class and is able to sweet talk their ear until they are absolutely in love with the idea of him.   Growing up poor allowed him to understand the personalities of blue-collar workers and grunts. His underdog story of living in poverty to owning a near-billion-dollar company sparks inspiration in the middle class. And his sophisticated and dignified mannerisms make him adored by aristocratic families in the south, even surpassing them in etiquette.   Isaac managed to learn such mannerisms and social normalities by being around the wealthy elite; observing and studying their presentation and formalities.   Raised in an aristocratic home, Issac was well acquainted with mannerisms and social normalities to present a quality air to himself. He would attend various formal events and debutantes at a young age for his parents to parade their success in raising a perfect child.
